Tyre and wheel equipment supplier Hofmann Megaplan has recently installed a new tyre & wheel assembly line for Lotus at the car manufacturer’s factory in Hethel, Norfolk. The new facility includes a megaspin 900 TFT wheel balancer, megamount ‘Boss’ tyre changer and various items from the ‘speedline’ system including inflation system and wheel lifters.
Hofmann Megaplan, one of the best known names in tyre changing and balancing equipment, has appointed James Briggs (28) as General Manager. He will be taking overall responsibility of day to day operations and will be based at the company’s HQ in Huntingdon, Cambs. This new appointment will enable Managing Director James Boon, to move into a more field-based role, working directly with existing and new users of their extensive range of tyre changers and balancers.
Hofmann Megaplan has expanded its internal team with the appointment of Mike Towner (35) as Customer Service Manager. He brings a wealth of experience to the company, having spent the last 18 years in the automotive service industry, progressing from mechanic through to Aftersales Manager within a dealership environment.
Responsible for all aspects of customer service, the appointment is designed to maintain Hofmann Megaplan’s reputation for exemplary service and support as the company continues to grow. “We have a goal within Hofmann Megaplan that everyone coming into contact with us goes away thinking we were the best company they spoke to that day”, comments MD James Boon, “and I’m convinced Mike’s combination of technical ability and customer service skills will maintain that standard as our customer base expands”.
Hofmann Megaplan has introduced a new addition to its wheel service range with the launch of the ‘Tradesman’ machine for alloy wheel refurbishment and repair.
The megamount ‘Tradesman’ is the result of a joint development project with wheel refurbishment specialist Wheel Clinic. Based on a conventional tyre changer chassis, the unit enables rims up to 24 inch diameter to be clamped and rotated at the necessary speed for grinding and polishing. A full starter kit of grinding and polishing wheels is supplied with the unit and ongoing consumables are available directly from Wheel Clinic.
Hofmann Megaplan, has appointed Andy Ringrose as its new equipment specialist.
Involved in all aspects of sales Mr Ringrose will provide field-based support for both new and existing customers.
Hofmann Megaplan, has introduced the megamount 801 Super Automatic.
The tyre changer is aimed at the specialist tyre fitting sector, with companies including Elite.Com, Rochford Tyres and Jeff Fowkes Wheels all having invested in the technology.
Hofmann Megaplan’s new Ride Management System has been installed at Jeff Fowkes Wheels, Leicestershire. The RMS package consists of the Megaspin 800 wheel balancer and Haweka Premier adaptor system, with the added feature of run-out measurement built into the balancer.
