With the ultra-high performance market increasing and becoming more and more competitive, retailers are demanding an ever more diverse range of tyres from different manufacturers to meet the varying needs of their customers. That’s why, in the company’s words “when it comes to sourcing high performance tyres for your customers…Grouptyre remains committed to the continuous development of its high performance product offering”.
Kumho reports that it’s Ecsta PS91 is now only weeks away from UK availability. The PS91 is positioned as Kumho’s optimum high-performance road product, sitting above the ever-popular Ecsta Le Sport KU39. Squarely aimed at supercars and such ultra-quick passenger saloons as BMW M cars, Mercedes-Benz AMG models and Audi RS ones, the entire range will be Y-rated and offered in sizes from 18 to 20 inches in diameter. The focus is on maximum grip and braking performance in the dry, combined with outstanding feel. Nor – says the company – have any of these qualities been achieved at the expense of other key factors. It also has a 3D dimple design which cools the tyre at high speeds, optimising durability and wear rates.
Yokohama has added Porsche to its Original Equipment (OE) fitment portfolio. The latest additions are the new Porsche 911, Boxster and Cayman models, which will be fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyres as standard.

Two weeks after it was previewed during the Geneva Motor Show, on 13 April Pirelli launched its latest P Zero tyre in Portugal, furthering the “made to measure” meets “extreme performance” pro-homologation message Pirelli has attached to its latest product.
Evergreen recently introduced its all-new Dyna range including the DynaControl EU728 pattern, which reportedly presents handling and braking performance in both wet and dry road conditions. In addition, a special silica compound in the tread is said to “significantly reduce rolling resistance and increases fuel efficiency”.
Contract manufacturer Enjoy Tyre, specialises in importing Rotalla and Routeway branded tyres into the UK and Europe. For its part, Rotalla is represented by 15 exclusive distributors responsible for 20 markets throughout Europe. The latest news is that the recently introduced Rotalla Setula E-Pace RH01 and RU01 patterns, which carry improved EU label ratings of CB and CC respectively, are now available. RH01 has 36 sizes with H/V options and diameters from 14 up to 16 inches.
The Landsail LS588 UHP – and indeed all Landsail car tyres – have enjoyed rapid and consistent growth during the last few years. Despite the parent Sentury Tire factory having only being founded in 2009, seven-digit UK volumes demonstrate the brand is a force to be reckoned with in this European market at least. In the competitive UK ultra high performance sector, Landsail offers the LS588, which company representatives say offers “premium performance at competitive price”.
The launch of the Davanti brand took place at Autopromotec in Bologna in May last year. 12 months later, company representatives are celebrating the brand’s growth, saying the Davanti brand has “literally taken the UK and European tyre market by storm”. As far as the high performance sector is concered, the brand’s growth has been supported by a series new products led by the Davanti DX640 Ultra High Performance pattern.
Singapore-based contract tyre brand – Firenza is promoting its ST-05A pattern as a “superior mid-range” option, with company representatives characterising the production as “a popular option in the UHP sector in the UK and throughout Europe”.
The Firenza ST-05A high performance pattern is produced for the various European markets it serves at a “technologically advanced production facility in South East Asia”. According to the company, this factory incorporates up-to-the-minute tyre building innovations with particular emphasis being placed on providing an attractive design that also meets all tough and high-powered demands of sports-minded drivers of high-powered saloon cars.

Bridgestone is celebrating original equipment success after announcing contracts to supply tyres to the BMW 7 Series and X1.
The top-of-the-range luxury BMW 7 Series saloon, launched in July 2015, is equipped with Bridgestone Potenza S001 UHP sport tyres in six sizes, all with the added safety of RFT (Run Flat Technology). Potenza S001 is Bridgestone’s flagship UHP tyre engineered for high-speed performance.
