Continuity and change on the Hella management board

The Hella GmbH & Co KGaA Shareholder Committee has made important personnel decisions at the company’s management board level. Bernard Schäferbarthold’s (48) management contract was extended by five years until 31 October 2024. He will continue as managing director for the corporate Finance, Controlling, and Information Technology divisions in the long term. On the other, Dr Frank Huber (38), the deputy managing director for the Lighting business division, will take over management of the division from CEO Dr Rolf Breidenbach (56) with effect from 1 June 2019.

Plastic Omnium and Hella enter into strategic partnership

Automotive suppliers Hella and Plastic Omnium are entering into a strategic cooperation, with the focus of the non-exclusive cooperation to accelerate the holistic integration of exterior vehicle lighting technologies, especially for the front and rear areas. Hella contributes to the collaboration through its competence in automotive lighting technology, while Plastic Omnium brings the expertise in plastics processing for exterior body parts. The plan is to also bundle the corresponding development resources together at one site in Germany.

Hella increases sales and earnings in a challenging market environment

Hella, a global automotive supplier, has concluded the first six months of its fiscal year 2018/2019 (June 1 to November 30, 2018) with positive sales and earnings despite a challenging market environment. Thus, currency and portfolio-adjusted consolidated sales rose by 7.3 per cent. Taking into account exchange rate effects and the divestment of the wholesale distribution business, the reported sales increased by 2.8 per cent to € 3.6 billion (previous year: € 3.5 billion).

Hella promotes intelligent mobility infrastructure in Beijing

Hella, the lighting and electronics specialist is participating in a consortium initiated by the Chinese automobile manufacturer BAIC to develop an intelligent mobility infrastructure in Beijing. This includes communication between vehicles and their environment, via traffic lights equipped with sensor technologies, for example. A total of thirteen international and Chinese technology companies are involved in the non-exclusive cooperation.

Hella opens new electronics plant in Lithuania

Hella, the lighting and electronics specialist, has opened a new plant in Lithuania. Based in the Lithuanian Kaunas region, the new facility will serve the rising demand for electronics components in the European market. Hella successfully concludes sale of wholesale businesses, FTZ and Inter-Team

Lighting and electronics specialist Hella has concluded the sale of the Danish and Polish wholesale businesses FTZ and Inter-Team. After approval by the antitrust authorities responsible, both companies were transferred to the Swedish wholesaler Mekonomen. Subject to the terms of the transaction, the purchase price amounts to 395 million euro.

IAA Commercial Vehicles: Hella introduces intelligent lighting and electronics solutions

From 20-27 September, Hella, the lighting and electronics specialist will present its intelligent lighting and electronics solutions for trucks, trailers and buses at IAA Commercial Vehicles, the leading international trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics in Hannover (Hall 16, Stand B01). At the centre of the presentation will be products for improving safety on the road and solutions for an individual vehicle design and by exhibiting prototypes, Hella will also provide an insight into the future of mobility.
