The Firestone range continues to grow and diversify with the brand’s first-ever tyre for city bus operations. The all-new, all-position FS492 was designed specifically with the challenges of urban transport operations in mind; with the reliability to ensure safety and comfort for passengers and the durability to ensure long-lasting performance and profitability for operators.
A new Bandag retread has been introduced to cater to construction, civil engineering and other on/off applications across a wide range of surface and weather conditions. The M-Drive 001 tread is based upon the Bridgestone M-Drive 001 drive-axle tyre and is M+S marked. The tread can be obtained in sizes 13R22.5, 295/80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5, a portfolio that covers the most frequently-encountered on/off vehicles on the market.
New month, new website: On 1 July, Bridgestone Europe launched a new European website for its Firestone car, truck/bus and agricultural ranges. The firestone.eu site covers 18 national markets within the region and is available in 14 languages. All expected conveniences, including tyre search by vehicle (for cars and vans) or function (for trucks and buses) can be found on the new site.
Bridgestone introduced a further addition to its service portfolio for commercial vehicle operators at last month’s Reifen trade show in Germany – ‘The Bandag Contract of Trust.’ The tyre maker says this latest offers has been launched in order reassure fleets that Bandag retreaded tyres are not only a safe and reliable alternative to a new set of tyres, but also a solution for reducing fleets’ tyre related costs per kilometre. The Bandag Contract of Trust between Bandag dealers and fleet operators is being progressively rolled out across Europe and applies to tyres retreaded from both Bridgestone and Firestone casings.
A new line-up of Firestone tyres designed for both on- and off-road use aims to provide users with high levels of durability, long wear life and good grip over a wide range of tough terrain. Upon introducing its FS822 Steer, FD833 Drive and FT833 Trailer tyres, Bridgestone Europe says the trio “bring Firestone’s renowned no-nonsense, cost-effective approach to the on/off segment.”
It’s now been about 18 months since Bridgestone launched its new U-AP 001 all-position truck tyre, and this line-up has now been joined by corresponding Bandag treads. Bridgestone says this new range of urban-application Bandage retreads “fits seamlessly” within the company’s Total Tyre Life offer and is available in sizes to match the Bridgestone U-AP 001 as well as for other brand casings.
Starting January 2015, Bridgestone Europe is rolling out a new range of EVO marked on/off truck and bus radials. These higher load capacity tyres aim to give operators in the construction and mining sectors the opportunity to carry heavier loads – without compromising tyre performance, cut resistance and durability.
