A new face at Hankook’s Daventry office. As of 1 October, Chang Yool Han holds the position of managing director at Hankook Tyre UK. He succeeds Brett Emerson, who has returned to Bridgestone as director of its Consumer business unit for the North Region.
Hankook Tyre UK has appointed Rob Burkhill to the position of regional sales manager for its Northern region. Burkhill brings nearly 20 years of experience into his new role of developing sales of Hankook passenger car and light truck tyres in the UK.
Hankook Tyre UK has been named official tyre partner to this year’s Supercar Fest, which takes place in Worcestershire on 20 July and will showcase around 150 modern and classic supercars.
The growing Hankook commercial vehicle tyre portfolio will be on display at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, which takes place from 30 April to 2 May at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). Hankook Tyre UK can be found in Hall 5, stand 5B50, where a wide range of tyres will be presented, including the SmartWork for on and off road and the SmartFlex range for regional haul.
Hankook Tyre UK has confirmed its continued support of the Air Ambulance charity, a partnership that began with a donation of tyres in 2017. Since then, Hankook Tyre UK supported the charity through tyre donations and by arranging multiple fundraisers, both internally and during popular company events. It has also made Air Ambulance its dedicated charity of choice.
Following a long career in the tyre industry and after 25 years’ service at Hankook, former sales manager Ian Mayoll will retire from the company on 31 December 2017. Mayoll was the company’s first UK employee and has been instrumental in the growth of Hankook Tyre UK over the past two and a half decades.
Hankook Tyre UK, elite sponsor of the Northampton Saints, collected for the Daventry and Northampton foodbanks earlier this month as the Club took on Newport Gwent Dragons in the second round of the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Hankook and the Saints asked supporters to bring non-perishable items to the game for collection at the Hankook trailer, located in the Supporter Village at Franklin’s Gardens. Hankook also organised a collection at their head office in Daventry, where staff donated Christmas treats for the cause.
Complete road haulage specialist Fagan & Whalley has selected Hankook Tyre UK to supply tyres for its 164-strong fleet of Scania trucks and 342 trailers. The tyre maker shares that the Lancashire-based haulier chose Hankook after being offered a “complete tyre solution coupled with an unrivalled service and support package.” The Hankook SmartFlex AH31 will be fitted to all steer and lift axles in the Fagan & Whalley fleet, the SmartFlex DH31 fitment to all drive axles and the TH22 for all trailer fitments.
