GSF Car Parts to exclusively supply Amaron batteries in the UK aftermarket

GSF Car Parts has agreed an exclusive deal with Indian battery manufacturer Amaron to stock a range of its products for the UK aftermarket. The Amaron brand is part of the Amara Raja group which manufactures automotive parts such as batteries and electronics.

The brand sells more than 50 million batteries per year in 60 countries, with the UK joining that list following this commercial partnership. Worldwide, Amaron service more than 100 national-level distributors, including two of the top five battery retailers in the world.

GSF reports 20% growth, potential for 40 more branches

GSF Car Parts is reporting 20 per cent year-on-year revenue growth, outperforming a buoyant aftermarket sector. Indeed, data from Factor Sales suggests strong growth across the wider aftermarket car parts segment, with the sector up 6.5 per cent year-on-year growth for September, continuing a pattern that has seen eight out of nine months in 2024 trading ahead of 2023. One explanation is that the growth of the car parts market indicates that consumers are holding on to their existing cars for longer, driving demand for repairs and replacement parts.

On 3 August, LKQ Corporation (LKQ) and Uni-Select Inc confirmed that the previously-announced acquisition of Uni-Select by 9485‑4692 Québec Inc, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of LKQ, officially completed on 1 August 2023. This follows a complex and ongoing monopoly-related investigation by UK authorities.

The Parts Alliance continues to grow UK branch network

Within the last two weeks both Weston-super-Mare under The Parts Alliance brand and GSF Colchester have successfully opened for business.

Blackpool also joined BBC Superfactors branch network back in June, after branches in Middlesbrough, Croydon, Leeds, Newcastle, Indian Queens and Durham have all been added since January.

GSF Car Parts to give £2,500 worth of prizes at Mechanex

GSF Car Parts have announced details of a new prize draw, open to all garage visitors to their stand at the upcoming Mechanex trade show. The two day garage event, which takes place on 10 and 11 November at Surrey’s Sandown Park, will see the company promoting the latest from its Garage Essentials workshop equipment range. Vetech’s range of parts and consumables will also be prominent, including the patented non-flammable DPF cleaner which has been flying off the shelves, following its summer launch.

75 GSF Car Parts (GSF) branches have merged with The Parts Alliance, taking the network to well over 300. 160 of these are under common ownership. Together they give the Solihull-based business group increased coverage in the UK and Ireland.

Growing turbo hose opportunity for independents – GSF

Vehicle manufacturers chasing higher fuel efficiency, combined with UK road tax incentives to reduce CO2 emissions, have seen turbo charged diesel engines rise rapidly in popularity. While only 11 per cent of UK cars were diesel in 1998, the proportion has risen every year since to nearly 37 per cent today, with a million new diesel registrations each year since 2012, slightly exceeding new petrol vehicles. According to GSF Car Parts, the aftermarket is yet to realise the full potential of the increased demand for turbo hose replacements.
