Golfers to chase their dreams with Bridgestone in 2018

Bridgestone has announced details for the 2018 Chase Your Dream Trophy with England Golf. The championship gives thousands of amateur golfers from more than 1,900 clubs the chance to advance through club, regional, and national rounds to progress to a round at the pro-am of the Bridgestone Challenge. The three overall winners teed up with Ryder Cup hero Nicolas Colsaerts at the pro-am of the British Masters supported by Sky Sports. The cup was launched alongside the manufacturer’s global Olympic partnership last year.

Autosupplies inaugural golf day a success

Autosupplies Chesterfield has held its first ever supplier and customer golf day at South Chesterfield Golf Club.

More than 30 players took part in the four ball stableford tournament with an array of trophies for nearest the pin and longest drive given out to participants, along with winning team and raffle prizes.

On Thursday 1 June, more than 50 players from NTDA member companies, and their guests, gathered at the Mere Golf and Country Club to participate in the Tyre Industry Golf Day, which provided them with an opportunity to both meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Honorary Life Members organise new NTDA Tyre Industry Golf Day

A new golf event, to be known as the NTDA 2017 Tyre Industry Golf Day, and which is being organised by NTDA Honorary Life Members John Tarbox, Martin Rowlands and George Forbes, will take place at Mere Golf and Country Club, near Manchester, on Thursday 1 June 2017.

IAAF Golf Challenge will benefit BEN

Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced it will once again be hosting its Team Golf Challenge, which will take place on 5 July at Worsley Park, Nr Manchester, and 10 August at Forest of Arden in Meriden, Warwickshire in aid of automotive trade charity, BEN.

Bridgestone partners England Golf with trophy, Pro-Am prize

Bridgestone has extended its support of golf with its new Bridgestone Chase your Dream Trophy. Played for the first time in 2017 and open to members of England Golf’s 1,900 affiliated clubs, the new event will run annually with separate men’s and women’s competitions to discover the country’s top handicap golfers of the year. Club golfers will get the chance to win a place in a European Tour Pro-Am. The trophy is presented by the tyre manufacturer in partnership with England Golf.

US Open winner pairs with Bridgestone Trophy champions in pro-am golf event

Bridgestone presented three amateur golfers the chance to play with a major winning star and household name of the sport at the pro-am of the British Masters, supported by Sky Sports. The Bridgestone DriveGuard Trophy winning trio teed off with 2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell at The Grove. Carl Broomfield, Peter Carr and Zack Rosen beat up to 20,000 amateurs across England by winning the tyre manufacturer’s amateur event, which engaged with around 200 clubs this year. Bridgestone Tyres was the official partner of the European Tour competition, eventually won by Swedish star Alex Noren.

Nokian sponsors Fin golfer Mikko Ilonen

Nokian Tyres has started a multi-year partnership agreement with professional golfer Mikko Ilonen, Finland’s “Mr. Golf”. The cooperation starts in the beginning of 2017, and Ilonen is set to take part in various company events and endorse Nokian Tyres and its products, especially in the Nordics.

GEA members raise £2,500 for BEN

Garage Equipment Association members recently raised £2500 for BEN at their annual Charity Golf Day. The event, which has been running for over 20 years was set up to allow GEA members and non-members to network whilst raising money for charity.

Rema Tip Top UK’s corporate golf day was bigger and better following the success of the 2015 event, the parts and equipment supplier stated. Employees and their automotive and industrial customers played two rounds of golf and enjoyed a three course meal at Rudding Park in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Omni United appoints LPGA Golfer Jodi Ewart Shadoff as brand ambassador

Omni United has signed LPGA golfer Jodi Ewart Shadoff as brand ambassador for Radar Tires, Omni’s flagship brand. Shadoff is described as an “up and coming” player in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) ranking of women golfers worldwide. A professional golf player since 2010, she qualified for the LPGA Tour in 2011. Shadoff tied for 4th in the 2013 US Women’s Open and for 7th in the prestigious 2013 Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Yokohama continues US ladies’ golf sponsorship

For the third consecutive year, Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC) is teeing it up with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in Prattville, Alabama. That’s where the 2016 Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic will be held 5-8 May on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill along the Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Trail.

IAAF BEN golf event ‘most popular ever’

The IAAF has concluded its most popular summer golf day programme ever with one golfer achieving a hole in one. IAAF golf events at Worsley Park, Nr. Manchester and Forest of Arden, Meriden, Warwickshire were in support of industry charity BEN and more than 20 company teams took part.
