Pirelli, Unicorn Mobility expanding corporate e-bake sharing project

Pirelli is expanding its Corporate eBike Sharing project, launched in 2021. Partnering sustainable mobility firm UM Technologies BV (UMT), owner of the Unicorn Mobility commercial brand, the company is inaugurating a new phase of Cycl-e Around. Pirelli will provide UMT its brand and knowledge of more than 160 global markets to boost end-user experience, while UMT will exploit its expertise in new mobility and its network of international partners to increase the efficiency and broaden the scheme.

Pirelli rolls out sustainability logo

In addition to featuring the Elect marking on the sidewall, the P Zero E is the first Pirelli tyre to wear a new logo that identifies it as a product containing at least 50 per cent sustainable materials. This new marking depicts two arrows in a circle and will also be present on future tyre models made from half or more bio-based and/or recycled materials.

Pirelli awarded FIA 3-star environmental accreditation

The governing body of world motorsport has awarded Pirelli’s motorsport division three stars as part of its Environmental Accreditation Programme. This is the highest score that the FIA awards within the programme and gives only to participants who have demonstrated the best environmental standards in a series of measures.

Deforestation-free rubber: Pirelli, BMW working with BirdLife International

Pirelli’s latest efforts are quite literally for the birds – and this is by no means a bad thing. Together with the BMW Group, Pirelli is joining with BirdLife International in a three-year project that aims to favour the long-term production of sustainable and deforestation-free natural rubber in Indonesia. Our feathered friends are just one of a whole range of potential beneficiaries.

Pirelli introduces FSC-certified P Zero for BMW hybrid

Pirelli claims a world first with the launch of a range of FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) tyres. Designed for the BMW X5 xDrive45e plug-in-hybrid, these tyres contain FSC-certified natural rubber and rayon. According to Pirelli, its FSC-Certified P Zero represents “a new horizon for increasingly sustainable tyre production.”

Pirelli: WRC tyre supply confirms “leadership in world motorsport”

The era of Michelin tyres dominating the World Rally Championship (WRC) is drawing to a close. The FIA has chosen Pirelli as sole tyre supplier for the WRC from 2021 to 2024. With its selection, Pirelli sees itself at “the top of motorsport” thanks to its exclusive tyre supply to both the leading rally and single seater racing championships. “These successful campaigns confirm Pirelli’s leadership in world motorsport,” comments the tyre maker.
