Hofmann Megaplan launches new Luxus tyre changer
Hofmann Megaplan Hofmann Megaplan is building on the UK introduction of the “premium specification” Luxus garage equipment brand with the new megamount Luxus 70LLF tyre changer. The company says the range embodies a “best-in-class” concept, claiming the tyre changer is the “toughest” yet seen on the UK market. Made in Italy by a well-established producer of tyre changers, Hofmann Megaplan says the megamount Luxus 70LLF’s structure “goes back as far as the early 1980s – when more steel was used and the manufacturing process was arguably more ‘artisan’.” The unit comes with Luxus’ five-year warranty, an annual Service & Inspection from a Hofmann Megaplan factory-trained engineer, and features as standard that would often be considered extras.
Oakmain ‘struck off’ from GEA membership
Following the news that Wales-based garage equipment firm Oakmain Ltd’s sales manager was prosecuted for providing fraudulent solicitors letters to some garages applying to become MOT test centres, it has emerged that the historically “long-time” Garage Equipment Association (GEA) member company have been “struck off” from membership.
Beissbarth becomes part of the Stertil Group
Beissbarth Automotive Testing Solutions GmbH is taking over Beissbarth GmbH as a subsidiary of Stertil B.V., effective 1 January 2023. Most self-administration proceedings Beissbarth GmbH applied for in July 2022 are therefore complete. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Pro-AlignUK Hunter tyre servicing equipment distributor Pro-Align is helping to upgrade wheel aligners throughout Kwik Fit’s 600-plus site network. The company is supporting the software upgrade to WinAlign 17 on Hunter Elite TD aligners used by the chain. The new version increases accuracy and efficiency, and therefore revenue opportunities, Hunter says. Kwik Fit has been using the Elite TD since 2014. In addition to the network wide software upgrade, Pro-Align is also installing the Hunter Elite TD system across 14 Kwik Fit and Tyre Pros centres, with one site investing in a new Hunter DSP706 aligner for its workshop.
