Autogem has invested in a new mezzanine level at its headquarters/warehouse in order to provide “greater efficiencies and speed of product delivery to customers”.
The expansion, which has taken place roughly two years after the company’s move to Autogem House in Abbey Road, North London, creates 400-pallets’-worth of additional space, which in turn allows the company to house more products.

Distributor of the Hunter brand of wheel servicing equipment Pro-Align has introduced the US company’s new wheel alignment inspection system to the UK and Ireland markets. The Hunter Quick Check Drive is one of the industry’s first ‘drive-thru’ non-contact wheel alignment inspection systems, according to the distributor. It adds that the system’s operation without any need to attach sensors or targets, or for the vehicle to stop, means that labour costs are minimised and alignment opportunities can be identified in a matter of seconds.

On 2 July Cemb S.p.A., the leading balancing machines and vibration analysis systems manufacturer, announced that it had acquired M&B Engineering, an important player in garage equipment production. Cemb reports that it is beginning “the internal production of tyre changers” as a result of the purchase. None of the financial details associated with the transaction have yet been revealed.

Hella Gutmann Solutions (HGS) has released the CSC-Tool Mobile (camera & sensor calibration tool) advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) recalibration tool. The CSC-Tool Mobile is engineered to the same exacting criteria as the standard version, which was released last year, but with the added bonus of being portable and able to be assembled in just a few minutes. Again, as with the standard tool, it is fully compatible with the HGS mega macs range of diagnostic tools, which all come pre-loaded with the necessary ADAS calibration software.
When the doors for Autopromotec 2019 opened at the end of May, the show organisers were already reporting a 4.4 per cent increase in the number of exhibitors. Garage equipment manufacturer Cemb has announced that is presenting some recently-develop upgrades to its Argos machine at Autopromtec. According to the company, the improvements have made it “even faster and more efficient”. Argos software now recognizes vehicle’s license plate, automatically selecting relevant specs and starting the measuring process. As a result, wheel alignment is even faster. Indeed, it reportedly takes just five seconds from the vehicle’s arrival to getting results.
Ecobat Battery Technologies (EBT), formerly Manbat, will use the dual platforms provided by its stand in hall 20 and the event’s official workshop presentation area at Automechanika Birmingham, to publicise its all-in-one, start/stop battery analysis and replacement solution, One Box.
Autogem will unveil its second generation Treadspec drive-over tread scanner at Automechanika Birmingham (4-6 June, NEC Birmingham). The ramp, which the company states has been “extremely well-received” in its domestic USA market, offers a “no labour” diagnostic tool for the aftermarket. It supplements the company’s Groove Glove, also developed by Treadspec manufacturer Tire Profiles Inc, which allows garage mechanics to scan all four tyres on any given vehicle and discover the tread depth and alignment of each within 50 seconds.
