MEA focus ā€“ Vipal Rubber reinforces commercial team in Europe

As part of efforts to expand its commercial presence in Africa and the Middle East, Vipal Rubber has announced a new addition to its European team. Alfonso IbaƱez comes on board, bringing with him marketing experience within the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region as well as language skills ā€“ in addition to his native Spanish, IbaƱez is fluent in English and French. He will cater to MEA-based customers, areas that Vipal considers strategic for the expansion and consolidation of the companyā€™s business.

Vipal Europe now responsible for entire Africa region

A strategic meeting in Valencia, Spain afforded Vipal Europe the opportunity to review the year thatā€™s been. Amongst the significant changes to occur in recent times is the inclusion of the entire African territory within the Vipal Europe remit. This follows the addition of the North Africa and Middle East regions to the Vipal Europe operation in 2021.

Vipal sponsors Vaculug 70th anniversary celebration

Vipal Rubber sponsored the 70th anniversary celebrations of UK retreader Vaculug. Vipal also honoured Vaculug employees Liam Atkinson, Jason Hughes and Paul Farrington in recognition of their collaboration. Founded in 1950, Vaculug employs more than 140, making it one of the largest retreaders in Europe. The company manufactures hot and cold cure retreaded tyres for trucks and OTR.

7 Vipal treads verified for German government incentive programme

Seven treads in Vipal Rubberā€™s portfolio have been made eligible for use in the German De-minimis programme. The VT220, VT160, VDA4 (all drive axle), VL150A, VZAB, VAP1 and VT550A (trailer) designs have all been verified, and meet the programmeā€™s needs. Promoted by the German government, De-minimis reimburses a significant part of fleet operatorsā€™ costs in acquiring tyres retreaded to certain specifications.

Schmidt becomes Vipal Rubber general manager in Europe

Vipal Rubber has appointed Frederico Schmidt as its new European general manager. Having previously worked in Vipalā€™s United States branch after being transferred from the companyā€™s Brazilian headquarters, Schmidt has been with the retreading products manufacturer for 15 years.
