Trelleborg Wheel Systems has launched the PS1000 material handling tyre. The manufacturer calls the tyre a next-generation, superior-quality, press-on solid forklift tyre. It incorporates TWS’s Pit Stop Line innovation, specialised compounds, and a new design to guarantee uptime, efficiency and safety for operators while reducing total cost of ownership and environmental impact.
Pyramids Tires, a new tyre manufacturer based in Port Said, northeast Egypt, saw its first tyres roll off the production line on 9 May 2020. The factory currently manufactures motorcycle, forklift and agricultural tyres as part of the first phase of the plant’s development. The second phase, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022, will see the company add passenger car, truck and OTR tyres to its portfolio.
BKT has introduced two new Maglift forklift tyres, the Maglift Eco and Maglift Premium. Both tyres are particularly “wear and cut resistant” thanks to BKT’s rubber compound. The manufacturer has employed a softer mixture for the comfort of the operator in the middle part of the tyre section.
Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has appointed Stuart Browne as general manager. Having joined Hoppecke UK in 2015 as service director, Browne was promoted to operations director-sales and service in January last year. This specially created role was a significant move tied into the company’s decision to forge closer links between its sales and service divisions to enhance customer support.
Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has expanded the Galaxy Yardmaster forklift tyre range with the addition of higher ply rating tyres for five key sizes. The new additions are sizes 21X8-9 (16 PR), 7.00-12, 7.00-15 and 7.50-15 (all 14 PR) and 250-15 (20 PR).
The Kion Group has chosen Trelleborg Wheel Systems as its preferred main supplier for non-marking tyres in the European market. As such, the manufacturer will fit Trelleborg non-marking resilient solid tyres as first choice on the counterbalanced forklift trucks it produces for use in indoor environments where floor care is essential.
Sri Lanka’s Global Rubber Industries (GRI Tires) has acquired Australian tyre supplier Tradefaire International’s industrial tyre business, Axis Tyres Pty Ltd. The acquisition includes Axis locations in Melbourne (Altona and Braeside), Sydney and Adelaide. Together with GRI’s existing branch in Brisbane, the company now operates five sites in Australia.
Camso has launched the Solideal PON 555 NM and PON 550 NM, two new non-marking additions to the Solideal PON series. These new and improved non-marking press-on tyres were developed to deliver increased energy efficiency and thermal performance.
ATG has added two more sizes to its line-up of Galaxy Yardmaster Radial forklift tyres. The all steel radial tyre used for heavy duty long cycle operations is now available in two new sizes: 12.00R20 and 12.00R24, and previously available size 10.00R20.
Around four years ago, Camso had a ‘lightbulb’ moment – it realised a patent it had been sitting on for years could solve the problem of static build-up in non-marking tyres. It began work on a product that would address this and released the Solideal PON 775 NMAS in 2017. UK and European users were introduced to Camso’s NMAS (non-marking anti-static) concept earlier this year with the introduction of a resilient-style forklift tyre. For those unfamiliar with its anti-static solution, Camso has now issued a ‘white paper’ document that sheds light on how NMAS products work.
It’s been a year since Camso launched the industry’s first non-marking anti-static (NMAS) forklift tyre, the Solideal PON 775 NMAS. The dominance of resilient tyres on UK and European forklift fleets means many in our part of the world are unable to use this press-on solution, but Camso has good news for these operators: It has now introduced a resilient NMAS forklift tyre, the Solideal RES Xtreme NMAS.
A full reengineering of steam generation equipment at the Trelleborg Wheel Systems plant in Sri Lanka will improve the facility’s environmental footprint as well as its production efficiency. Trelleborg is installing a new biomass boiler at the production site in Makola, near Colombo; it reports that work on this “major investment” has already begun, and the new process will be fully operational from June 2019.
Continental has become the exclusive tyre fitment on Toyota Material Handling’s flagship electric counterbalanced forklift truck range. All Toyota Traigo 80 forklift trucks ordered since 1 April 2018 come fitted with the Continental SC20+ solid tyre as standard.
Camso has unveiled the first patented anti-static forklift tyre designed to resolve the important safety issue of static electricity generated by non-marking tyres. The company will showcase its new Solideal PON 775 NMAS (Non-Marking Anti-Static) press-on tyre at the CeMat show later this month.
Three new Camso industrial pneumatic tyres have been introduced for forklift and ground support equipment applications. These are the Solideal Air 550, Air 570 and Air 561, tyres Camso says are aimed primarily at markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The Air 550, Air 570 and Air 561 respectively replace the Solideal ED Plus, Rib Lug and ZZ Rib.
