According to the weekly e-newsletter of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation, Kwik Fit has introduced a new fleet pricing strategy, which sees all brake pads and discs for a manufacturer's individual car and light commercial vehicle model range priced identically irrespective of the derivative of the vehicle.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced today that Tom Kaczynski has joined the company as vice president of investor relations. He will report to Darren R. Wells, executive vice president and chief financial officer. Kaczynski joins Goodyear from Affinia Group Inc., where he had been vice president and corporate treasurer. At Affinia Group, Kaczynski established the company’s treasury office and led financing and investor relations activities.
Business secretary Vince Cable has appointed Joe Greenwell, the former chairman of Ford, as head of the Automotive Investment Organisation (AIO). Funded with up to £3 million over the next two years, the AIO will spearhead the campaign to attract inward investment to the UK. Goodyear has released its latest all-season performance tyre in North America. Initial sizes of the Eagle Sport All-Season are now available, and the tyre maker says the full line-up of 47 sizes will be on offer by the end of 2013. Goodyear says the Eagle Sport All-Season is suited for a wide range of vehicles, from the Honda Accord to the Audi A4 and Ford Mustang.

Yokohama Tire Corporation-sponsored off-roaders Cameron and Heidi Steele are competing in the storied SCORE Tecate Baja 1000, at Mexico's Baja Peninsula, betweenNovember 14-17. According to the Press Association, it has been confirmed that Ford is to close its factory in Southampton, where Transit vans are made, plus another plant in Dagenham. Ford has once again chosen Goodyear’s Eagle SuperCar G:2 as original equipment on its most powerful Mustang, the Shelby GT500. The 2013 Shelby, which is now available in North America, is fitted with the Goodyear tyre in size P265/40ZR19 on the front axle and P285/35ZR20 on the rear.
