Hawthorns Logistics, a family run business based in Washington, Sunderland, has signed a 12 month Pay-as-You-Go contract with Prometeon Tyre Group for the company’s entire fleet. The contract includes Prometeon’s central billing tool, PRO Management.

Maxime Dupuy has been named as UK sales director, Michelin Connected Fleet as part of plans to grow its share of larger fleet customers. Dupuy has been promoted from national sales director for France after five years working for the fleet management services and solutions company. He previously held roles at the car rental and leasing business, Sixt. Dupuy will be based at Michelin Connected Fleet’s London offices, reporting to Fred Nahon.
Grupo Soledad has won the contract to supply and maintain tyres for the Spanish National Police fleet. The Spanish Ministry of the Interior reportedly chose Grupo Soledad, which will supply and fit Nexen tyres for Spanish National Police cars, based on the distributor’s “quality and service proposal”.
The new car market grew 28.3 per cent in July with 143,921 new vehicles registered, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). As a result, the market has enjoyed non-stop growth for a full year despite challenging economic conditions, as supply chain challenges ease, production increases and deliveries can be fulfilled.

Durham based Hargreaves UK Services has signed a pence per kilometre (PPK) contract with Prometeon Tyre Group for their Bulk Logistics Division. In addition to managing Hargreaves Bulk Logistics Division Prometeon will take on Hargreaves Industrial Division that includes 32 trailers and 18 tractor units that work on critical infrastructure the length and breadth of the UK building on Prometeon’s successful relationship with Hargreaves UK Services.
Eddie Fogarty has joined GB Tyres as national key account manager. Fogarty joins the existing PCR team and will work with colleagues and the senior management team within the business to “further develop and grow its share of the passenger car market.” That means heading up the Kenda tyre dealer programme in addition to “supporting passenger car tyre sales growth through the development of key accounts”.

After more than 57 years in the tyre business including two decades as Tyrenet managing director, Mike Riley has announced his retirement effective 30 June 2023. Announcing the news, Tyrenet representatives highlighted how Riley’s contributions have been “integral to the success of Tyrenet”, adding: “Mike will continue to play a strategic role in the company as chairman, moving from the daily operations to overseeing and influencing the future growth of Tyrenet.”
Anyline has launched commercial vehicle tyre tread scanning technology that can be used on any camera-enabled smartphone or mobile device. According to the company, the solution allows fleet operators to “improve tyre performance and longevity, ensure driver safety and reduce vehicle inspection time”.
Commercial Tyre Services Bristol is going digital for the first time with the integration of CAM’s Fitter-Force into its business. This will enable the provider to go paperless and introduce connectivity options with the four major tyre manufacturers participating on the network, principally through its adoption of e-jobsheet.
