Safety programme drives down lost time accidents at ATS Euromaster

The effectiveness of ATS Euromaster’s in-house safety programme can be witnessed in figures released today by the fast-fit group. The company says its ‘Safe by Choice’ programme is behind a 58 per cent reduction in lost time accidents over the past five years; these are down from 100 accidents in 2007 to just 42 in 2011. Furthermore, ATS Euromaster anticipates an even more substantial reduction this year, as just 12 lost time accidents occurred in the first half of 2012.

Kwik-Fit Fleet at CV show

Kwik-Fit Fleet will use this week's CV show to launch its improved service offering to light commercial vehicle fleets. As well as tyres, the company will showcase its other services, such as vehicle servicing and MOTs and its 'fit tyres at your premises' offering via its mobile tyre fitting and repair fleet.

Dunlop’s fastest-fitting success in Dubai

The battle of the supercars in the Dunlop Dubai 24 hour race is made possible by the frenetic activities of tyre-fitters in the pit lane, which the headline sponsor and tyre supplier calls “the world’s busiest fast fit centre”. During the 24 hour race, the Dunlop team fitted over 3500 racing tyres. At peak times, during the opening stages of the race when all the cars were competing, the team was fitting, inflating and balancing a Dunlop tyre every 15 seconds.

HiQ Bridgend “bouncing back” with HiQ

A Bridgend garage that lost £10,500 worth of equipment to thieves is bouncing back after joining the HiQ network. Waterton Tyre Services now has the fast-fit franchise’s black and white branding above its forecourt, following a £60,000 investment. The garage, based in Waterton Industrial Estate, was robbed at the start of the year after just five months of trading in the town.

Irish customers mark milestones for Team Systems

Devon based Team System's now has over 150 IT services contracts in Ireland, having confirmed the 150th “Team”-member earlier this year. Team already has an extensive UK client database where the company oversees the online business activities of hundreds of tyre retailers and wholesalers. Team Systems managing director, Steve Greatrex reports that this development in the Irish market is further proof of the company standing as one of the UK's largest and most accomplished IT service providers:

HiQ gains East Anglia presence

Fast-fit franchise chain HiQ says East Anglia has been its number one priority area for growth, and the company is now “celebrating a major breakthrough” in its expansion plans within the region after opening its first outlet there. Entrepreneur and former car salesman Avishek Sodhi has teamed up with HiQ to open a centre in Norwich. Sodhi describes the partnership as a “golden opportunity” to offer motorists a revolution in car care.

National Fleet wins Venson account

National Fleet has won the contract to provide fleet services to Venson Automotive Solutions. The contract will cover over 6000 vehicles which provide services to a number of public, private and not-for-profit organisations.

National Fleet reports that it will provide tyre supply and fast-fit solutions for the Venson vehicles via National’s network of over 210 branches nationwide with support from National Fleet’s mobile fitting units.

New generation bead booster a ‘real breakthrough’, says Gaither

Gaither Tool is credited for introducing the first portable automatic bead booster, and Gaither Europe has now launched what it considers to be the next generation of modern bead booster – the Gaither Bead Bazooka. This latest model offers the considerable advantage of being lighter and more compact; Gaither reports the Bead Bazooka weighs just 5.5 kilograms – less than half that of the 12.5 kilogram Gaither GB5A. It is also 60 per cent smaller. Gaither believes these reduced dimensions are just one of the advantages the Bead Bazooka offers; it also sees customers being attracted by its pricing and its delivery of the “most powerful automatic rapid air release system” of any bead seating device on the market.

HiQ praises Responsible Recycler Scheme as “success for self-policing”

Launched by the Tyre Industry Council in 1999 with support from manufacturers through the BTMA and ITMA, the TIF Responsible Recycler Scheme has recently come in for some praise from franchise-based retailer HiQ. The fast-fit network says the scheme, which it has adopted as the recycling policy for old tyres across its 150 centres, is now “a great guide to responsible disposers who share HiQ’s desire to protect the environment”. HiQ commercial manager Farrell Dolan said the industry should be congratulated for its recycling efforts, in spite of consumers’ negative perceptions surrounding fast fitters’ recycling policies that HiQ says continue to persist in spite of the RRS’s eminence.

HiQ Mascot Signs Up for Charity Run

Some say he is HiQ’s answer to the Stig, and unlike his television counterpart he’s unlikely to publish a book revealing his secret identity. All we know is, he’s called HiQ Bertie, and he is getting involved with the fast-fitter’s Project Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Care. The HiQ mascot is known to hundreds through his presence on the company’s Facebook page, and HiQ says he has captured the imagination of so many people that he has decided to get involved in fundraising activities.

£821,392 Saved Through Tyre Repairs: ATS Euromaster

Nearly one in ten national car and van fleet customers visiting an ATS Euromaster centre with a tyre-related issue drive away with a repaired tyre, rather than a bill for the cost of a new fitment, according to the fast-fit chain. ATSE says the statistic highlights its commitment to driving down running costs; a puncture repair typically costs a fleet customer £8, according to the company, representing a 92 per cent saving, assuming the customer would have bought a premium brand replacement at an average price of £96.

Van Service Award a 2010 Hat-Trick for Kwik-Fit Fleet

A concerted focus on helping businesses reduce operating costs and improve efficiency has helped Kwik-Fit Fleet secure a third award for 2010, this time from industry publication Fleet Van. At the Fleet Van Awards 2010 ceremony, held in London on October 6, the fast-fit provider was confirmed as this year’s Van Service and Repair Company of the Year. The latest gong to come Kwik-Fit Fleet’s way joins accolades earned in the BusinessCar Awards and from LeasePlan UK earlier in the year.

‘Flagship’ Aylesbury HiQ Centre Opens

The latest addition to the HiQ network is a newly opened automotive centre in Aylesbury. The purpose-built centre, opened by local businessman Oliver Pearson with a £100,000 investment, is described by HiQ as catering “for every motorists' needs, offering state-of-the-art vehicle diagnostic equipment and a dedicated MOT testing bay.” The fast-fit network is already heralding the new Aylesbury centre as a ‘flagship’ site amongst HiQ's network of 150 centres up and down the UK.

Kwik-Fit Sets Monthly MoT Test Record

September was a record month for MoT tests at Kwik-Fit. During this period the fast-fitter examined a total of 60,000 cars at its UK service centres during, a larger number of monthly MoT tests than at any other time in the company’s history. The company says this ability to examine so many cars for the national roadworthiness test is the result of sustained investment in the provision of servicing and MoT testing, including the installation of additional MoT testing bays.

Kwik-Fit Offers Tyres a Hotel Respite during the ‘Off-Season’

For the first time ever Kwik-Fit Fleet is running a special winter tyre programme, and at the time the company is offering corporate customers a hotel facility to store summer tyres when the weather is at its severest. The fast-fit company is urging fleets to plan for winter driving conditions by arranging now for summer tyres fitted to vehicles to be removed in October/November before the first snows, and for £40 a van’s summer tyres can be removed, packed, labelled and stored at Kwik-Fit Fleet’s National Distribution Centre in Northamptonshire. In the spring, the summer tyres will be returned to each customer’s centre of choice for fitment with the winter tyres removed and stored until required again.
