Giti Tire is returning in 2020 as the exclusive tyre provider and brand in the Formula 3 Asian Championship Series, a top-level formula competition of young racing leaders from around the world. Next year’s race calendar includes Giti’s international motorsports racing debut in the Middle East, with races featured on 10-11 January in Dubai and 17-18 January in Abu Dhabi.
It’s official: Hankook Tire has submitted a tender for Formula 1 tyre supply between 2020 and 2023. In response to questions from within our publishing group, Felix Kinzer, director of corporate communications at Hankook Tire Europe, confirmed that the company submitted an application prior to the 31 August deadline.
The opening round of the new Formula 3 Asian Championship took place on the weekend of 14-15 July, and all vehicles lined up on the grid at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit were shot with GitiCompete GTR1 tyres. Giti Tire is on board as exclusive tyre supplier to the series.
In 2017, Pirelli supported a wide range of different racing and rallying competition in Britain, including GT racing, F3 and rallying.
For 15 successive years, Kumho has supplied all the tyres for Europe’s top F3 teams to compete in the annual Zandvoort Masters meeting. In 2016 the event takes place on the weekend of 20-21 August, more than 20 of the latest crop of would-be Grand Prix drivers will push their Kumho ECSTA race tyres to the limits at this famous former Formula One circuit.
This year the Macau Grand Prix is taking place for the 62nd time, and for more than half its history Yokohama Rubber has served as exclusive tyre supplier for the Formula 3 race held during the event. The company heads to the Chinese administrative territory as exclusive supplier to the F3 race for the 33rd consecutive year in 2015.
The weekend’s round at Silverstone marked the start of Hankook Tire’s fourth year as official tyre supplier of the Formula 3 European Championship. The current season consists of 11 rounds and a total of 33 races, and will see competitors take to the track on the Ventus F200 slick and Ventus Z207 wet surface tyres. Hankook says this rubber – which it developed exclusively for the championship – has been ‘enhanced’ for the new season.
