Exol publishes latest newsletter

Exol Lubricants has launched the fifth issue of its newsletter, Fluid, featuring the latest information from the UK’s largest independently owned oil blender. It reflects Exol’s relationship with its customer base and aims to keep customers up to date with its activity and influence across a number of industries. The latest edition features in-depth information on Exol’s new barge that was recently added to the North East Waterways to transport raw materials from Hull to its bulk blending plant in Rotherham.

Exol Pride sets sail, transporting raw materials by canal

Exol Lubricants has recently added a new barge, “Exol Pride,” to the North East Waterways, which will transport raw materials from Hull to its bulk blending plant in Rotherham. Exol has been a long term user of the waterways, leading the oil and lubricants market by using an environmentally friendly option while transporting large loads. The company has been commended for its reduction in carbon footprint and has even featured in ITV’s Barging about Britain, hosted by John Sergeant.

Exol Lubricants has revealed that its lithium EP greases will now be available in a much lighter colour to give the products a more professional look, aligning it with global brands.

Exol adds synthetic engine oils to product range

Exol Lubricants has introduced an additional fully synthetic, fuel-efficient engine oil, Optima Vimax 0W-20, to its product range, as well as launching Optima LSF 0W-30, a fully synthetic, low SAPS engine oil.

Exol ‘highly commended’ at Birmingham Post Business Awards

Exol Lubricants, the UK’s largest independently owned oil blender, has been highly commended at the 2015 Birmingham Post Business Awards in the categories of manufacturing business and export business of the year.

The award ceremony hosted 650 people at the ICC in Birmingham in November, celebrating fast-growing, local companies in the West Midlands.

Exol Lubricants has completed the latest £2.5 million redevelopment of its 120,000sqft Wednesbury production facility, which has seen the introduction of a new warehouse, new laboratory and fleet wash facility.

Exol general manager appointment

Exol Lubricants has appointed Joe O’Shea as general manager of its Wednesbury production facility.

O’Shea has more than 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry, having begun his career at Land Rover serving an engineering apprenticeship. After 12 successful years, he then moved to Birmingham-based van maker LDV and occupied various managerial positions. In 2010, he enjoyed his first role at Exol Lubricants as operations manager before leaving two years later to join pressing supplier Sertec in a directorship position.

Exol upgrades R&D equipment

Exol Lubricants has upgraded many new pieces of equipment at its Wednesbury and Rotherham laboratories, to further strengthen the company’s quality control, research and development processes. The Mini Rotary Viscometer, Houillon VH1 Viscometer Bath, Brookfield Viscometer and Automated TBN have all been added to the company’s laboratories.

Exol ‘selfie’ competition winner

Agricultural engineer, Hughes Bros, was the lucky recipient of an iPhone 6 in a recent Exol “selfie” competition. To enter the competition, customers of the UK’s largest independently owned blender had to send in photos of any vehicle from the company’s £1.5million fleet with either their premises or personnel in the background.

Exol wins top accolade at Express & Star Business Awards

Exol Lubricants has won the top award of Business of the Year 2015 at the Express & Star Business awards. Taking place in the Ringside Suite at Wolverhampton Racecourse, a sell-out crowd of 440 people witnessed the UK’s largest independently owned oil blender take the top award and also the prize of Exporter of the Year, being praised for its success in winning work overseas and creating and maintaining long-term partnerships with customers.

Exol Lubricants has launched Autotrans Dexron VI, a new fully-synthetic automatic transmission fluid (ATF), specifically formulated for applications that require General Motors’ (GMs) Dexron VI ATF specification.

Exol reaches final of two Express & Star awards

Exol Lubricants has been nominated for two awards at the Express & Star Business Awards 2015. Following on from last year’s victory as manufacturing champion at the same awards, Exol is a finalist in the category of the Export Award and headline award of Business of the Year. The Express & Star Business Awards presentation evening takes place at Wolverhampton Racecourse on June 11. According to the newspaper, more applicants than ever before entered the awards with 33 companies going through to the final. Exol will now undergo a rigorous assessment including a series of site visits, as part of the judging process.

Exol Euro 6 CV oil proves a fuel saver following Millbrook tests

Exol Lubricants’ new commercial vehicle engine oil has shown that it can provide long term savings on a typical fleet operator’s fuel bill. Tested at the Millbrook vehicle test and development facility, the fully synthetic Taurus Euro FE 5W-30 engine oil was used in two types of bus; a Cummins ISB4.5 powered 2013 Wrightbus Streetlife and, a Volvo D7 powered 2005 Volvo B7RLE. Both vehicles were put through lengthy and varied driving cycles designed to mimic urban and rural environments with both stop-start and constant speed conditions.

Exol Lubricants full range of products is now listed on MAM Software’s online vehicle parts catalogue Autocat+.Exol has taken the initiative in the marketplace and responded to the difficulties faced by distributors and installers in selecting the correct oil for a specific vehicle. The dedicated presence on MAM’s Autocat+ catalogue will place accurate information directly into the hands of the users, making oil selection simple and allowing for instant access to Exol’s new products, as and when they are made available.
