Searching for a Battery?

A battery search facility, which provides fitment details at the touch of a button, is now available online at Exide Technologies’ website. The new feature, which has been added to the site following development from the company’s marketing team, enables users to call up a host of useful information by simply typing in the details of the car or commercial vehicle model.

“This is an excellent tool for trade customers who can carry out a search for the correct battery application within seconds. It’s not only quick but extremely user-friendly, detailing all the technical aspects of the product in a clear-cut format,” commented Craig Everett, Exide Technologies’ UK marketing manager. “This project also demonstrates Exide’s commitment to maintaining its high levels of customer service and technical support through the introduction of exciting initiatives such as this new online battery search facility,” he added.

Exide is Charged Up for British Speedway Championship

Exide Technologies is supporting the Championship of Great Britain, which is set to take place this Friday, 9 July, at Oxford Stadium.

The British speedway event will feature former world champions Mark Loram and Gary Haverlock who will be challenged by rising contenders Scott Nicholls, Lee Richardson and Joe Screen.

For Exide, the sponsorship deal re-establishes its links with the sport, as it was previously a supporter of the Coventry Bees team in the 1990s.

Electric Car Speed Record Attempt

On 9th June, the Primetime Engineering team will make an attempt on the 245 mph World Electric Land Speed record in their „ABBe=motion“ car on the Chott-el-Jerid salt flats in southern Tunisia. According to a computer simulation, the car should be capable of 304 mph and it has already achieved 146 mph in 1,000 yards (the longest distance available to the team in the UK). „ABB e=motion“ is powered by 58 Exide Technologies/CMP Orbital Series 800 batteries, delivering more than 600 volts and 2300 amps. The car runs on 25“ tall Goodyear Landspeed tyres and the final drive to these is via a bespoke belt and pulley system.
