Stamford Tyres to Introduce New Performance Tyre

Singapore based Stamford Tyres plans to use its appearance in Essen to promote a new high performance tyre. The company also gave details of the latest addition to the company’s international sales team. Rob Henderson, who is well known in the tyre industry and previously worked for London-based Eskay Tyres and Goldspark Trading, was recently appointed business manager (UK and Europe) for Stamford’s Sumo Firenza brand.

However, taking centre stage will be the new Sumo Firenza ST05A ultra high performance tyre, which is based on an asymmetric pattern and comes in a range of 34 sizes inclusive of 19 and 20 inch diameters. According to the company, the Sumo Firenza ST05A has been specifically developed and manufactured for the European and UK tyre markets and its official introduction has been targeted for Reifen 2010. This latest product from Stamford Tyres has been designed with low noise and rolling resistance in mind together with high grip levels in wet road conditions complying with all the latest European tyre standards.

TSI/SSG Promotes Cheetah Stud Extractor Kit

Tire Service Equipment Mgf. Co., Ltd., (TSI/SSG) is promoting the patented Cheetah Stud Extractor Kit as “the most innovative broken stud extracting tool on the market.” According to the company, it removes broken axle studs without harming the other studs or the axle hub. Using the Cheetah Stud Extractor Kit technicians have the ability to drill a hole precisely in the centre of the broken stud, say company representatives, pointing out that this precise centring is the most critical factor in being able to remove the broken stud.

Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) specialises in the production of tyres for off-road applications, including agriculture, industry & construction, earthmoving equipment, ATV and lawn & garden vehicles. Kings Road Tyres Lead British Contingent at Essen

Tyre wholesale operation Kings Road Tyres has once again booked a significant sized stand at the world’s leading tyre exhibition. The company reports that it has always recognised the benefit of trade exhibitions and events and has attended Essen on a regular basis, group MD Peter Gaster explained why:

“We place great importance in building personal relationships with our customers and the best way of doing that is by meeting them in person and understanding their needs. It’s never been easier to communicate efficiently with advances in business technology, but there is still no substitute for face-to-face contact. B&J Rocket to Premiere Global Company

This year’s Reifen 2010 exhibition will see B&J Rocket Sales AG not only present its latest products, but also re-present itself as a new global company. When the tyre industry comes together in Essen on June 1st, it is all the more worthwhile to visit the booth of B&J Rocket Sales AG, since the Swiss company also celebrates a première. Following the merger of the company’s B&J Rocket Sales AG Swiss operation and the business’s American B&J manufacturing unit, the firm now act as a global company. Speaking in a statement sent to Tyres & Accessories, Andreas Müller, managing director of the B&J Rocket Family was “quite excited” about the news:

Federal Set for Upcoming Essen Show

Taiwan’s Federal Tyres will be exhibiting at the upcoming Reifen Essen Show, June 1-4 in Essen, Germany. Federal said its Essen booth will emphasize “environmental performance,” with its range of consumer tyres. Two new products – the Formosa AZ01 and the Terra eco tyre – will be introduced during the show, Federal said. Also on display will be Federal’s 595 RPM ultra-high performance tyre, Couragia FX SUV line, the Himalaya SUV studdable winter tyre, and a prototype of the 595 EVO run-flat. (Tire Review)

Interstate Tires Participates in Latin Tyre Expo in Panama

Interstate Tire & Rubber has announced that it will participate in the Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo, which is scheduled to be held between 8 and 11 July 2010 at the Atlapa Convention Centre in Panama City, Panama. Interstate Tires reports that it will display its latest products on stand 694 during this show, launching the brand new Interstate Eco Tour Plus tyre and the company’s new commercial range to the Latin American and Caribbean markets.

Shanghai Tire Technologies Congress Scheduled for 25 – 26 May 2010

Based on the theme of “Interpreting Industry Legislation and Regulations, Exploring Cutting-edge Technologies and Trends,” event organisers are publicising plans for the second annual Tire Technologies Congress in Shanghai, China. As you might expect the conference will focus on the most controversial legislation and trade issues, but there are will also be technology sessions.

Organisers JFPS Group report that the event will centre on speech delivered by over 20 general managers and research and development directors from leading tyre companies such as: Bridgestone, Goodyear, Giti Tire, Pirelli Tyre, Cooper Tire, SIBUR – Russian Tyres, Apollo Tyres, Toyota Motor Corporation, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, Doublecoin Tire, Guizhou Tire, Yellow Sea Rubber, South China Tire & Rubber, Hangzhou Chaoyang Tire, Aeolus Tyre, China National Tyre & Rubber Guilin, Bayi Tire.

ITEC Enlists Experienced Advisory Council

The International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) has is working with “eight industry veterans” to help develop an aftermarket/distribution education programme for its show between 21 and 23 September at Cleveland’s I-X Center.

“These individuals who form our Advisory Council are key to the success of the exhibition,” said Ray Evans, chairman of the distribution component of the conference. “The Advisory Council is helping us develop a program that will focus on issues of importance to the industry today. With that information, we are creating a curriculum that promises to be ‘hands-on.’ These learning sessions will deal with rising costs of conducting business, new government regulations, the Internet and many more topics.”

Infinity Tyres Launches New Website

With sales of its car, truck, industrial and mining tyres continuing to grow across the 60 countries the brand is currently sold, Infinity Tyres is clearly looking to make an impact a this year’s Essen Show having booked a large stand near the premium tyremakers in hall three. In addition to raising the profile of the Infinity name, the company will no doubt be looking to publicise the fact that their production has been aromatic oil free for more months and is investing heavily in the research and development needed to comply with the forthcoming 2012 regulations, not to mention a number of additions and improvements to its range.

In March the company launched a new website which reinforces a new Infinity brand identity and supports new advertising and point of sale initiatives. According to the company, this overall brand positioning reflects the “growing and enhanced quality status of Infinity Tyres”.

Kraiburg Showcases Premium Pre-cured Retread Technology

“Think Wide” is the slogan Kraiburg Austria has adopted for its exhibit at the forthcoming Essen Show (1 to 4 June). The retreading materials maker reports that it will be presenting “an innovative process for premium pre-cured retreads.” The new technology, which is said to be innovative both in terms of the material and the method, eliminates one of the major restrictions in the pre-cured retreading process. And what’s more, according to the company, the new process “propels the finished product into the performance class of the premium hot cured retreads,” that have been growing in influence in the marketplace in recent years. Representatives of Kraiburg’s specialist earthmover/OTR division will also be hand at the company’s trade fair stand (109 in the GALERIA area), and staff will generally be on hand to offer advice for complete systems and designs.

CITExpo Visitors Offered Chance to Win Shanghai Ticket

CITExpo 2010 organiser, Reliable is offering visitors to the show six lucky draw opportunities to win the dream ticket of a free visit to Shanghai 2010, the World Expo venue this year, which runs between May and October. Thirty tickets to the World Expo will be distributed evenly between international and domestic visitors to CITExpo registering online; there will be one draw per month in May, June and July, with ten tickets on offer in each month. Global Tire Expo to Debut at SEMA 2010

The Tires, Wheels & Equipment Section of SEMA Show in Las Vegas is regarded as one of the major fixtures in the international tyre industry calendar. For years it has, as describes Tire Industry Association executive vice president Roy Littlefield, been “like coming home”, a place to catch up with old friends and colleagues, see valued customers face to face and learn the latest developments in the tyre industry. Yet Littlefield observes that, between the drastic downturn in the global economy and what he describes as “some complacency on the part of TIA and SEMA”, some within the industry may feel that the show might have lost its way.

New Exhibition to Help Find Homes for Post-ITC Tyres

Latin Expo Group Ltd., a Panamanian trade group, is organizing a tyre exhibition and conference for Latin American and Caribbean tyre distributors in Panama City, Panama, 8-11 July 2010. Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo 2010, will be held at Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City, according to the organizer. Latin Expo reports that it is in the process of organizing a programme of international tyre industry speakers to accompany the exposition, according to a spokesman for the group, who said the group’s vision “is to bring the global manufacturers and suppliers directly to the Latin markets and to get the Latin dealers to those manufacturers in a familiar and inexpensive venue.” 280 exhibitors are said to have signed up so far for a show expected to cover around 85,000 square feet of exhibition space.
