The 2010 SEMA Show will again feature a targeted programme specifically for auto dealers, says Tire Review. Set for the second day of the show – Wednesday, 3 November, from 8:30am to 1:45pm at the Las Vegas Convention Center – the Dealer Day Conference will be co-sponsored by the National Automobile Dealers Association and the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
The 8th annual China International Tire Expo – CitExpo – will be held at Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center this September 8-10. According to Wilko Fong, managing director of show operator Reliable International Exhibition Services, the number of registered exhibitors is expected to exceed last year’s CitExpo, with more than 300 exhibitors expected, covering 21,000 square meters of space over three halls.

SEMA has announced that exhibitors at the Las Vegas event may now enter new products into the “New Products Showcase” by visiting the “New Products” section of the show’s website. With nearly 2,000 companies exhibiting throughout the million square foot Convention Center, the New Products Showcase is designed to give buyers a quick glimpse of what is new and debuting at the Show. All exhibitors may enter one product category at no cost if submitted before 8 October, 2010. The 2010 SEMA Show takes place between Tuesday 2 and Friday 5 November, 2010, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The first major exhibitors at the first Tyrexpo India in Chennai on 5-7 July 2011 have been announced. Exhibition organiser ECI International states that Balkrishna Tyres (BKT), Elgi Rubber and Omni United have become the first major companies to commit to supporting the inaugural staging of the new tyre and equipment exhibition. ECI says the ground-breaking event reflects India’s fast-growing importance and influence in the global tyre, rubber and equipment market.
The fourth Tyrexpo Africa exhibition will take place from 6-8 March, 2012. Automotive aftermarket exhibition organiser ECI International also confirmed that the popular tyre trade and garage equipment show, Tyrexpo Africa, will return to Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre. “2012 will be the fourth staging of Tyrexpo Africa and we are confident that the show will continue to grow and establish itself as the premier tyre and garage equipment trade event of its kind in southern Africa,” says ECI managing director Paul Farrant.
After eight month of market research and development Westlake Central Europe launched the SW612 light truck winter tyre at Reifen 2010 in Essen, Germany. The new tyre, which is produced by China’ Hangzhou ZhongCe Rubber Co., Ltd.,, has reportedly been especially developed to cater to Central European requirements. The design and structure of the tyre is said to have been “hammered-out” by well-known premium brand technicians and compound experts, while Westlake distributors in Germany and Austria influenced the specification, look, feel and size range.
After the launch Guorong Ge, vice president of Hangzhou ZhongCe Rubber assured customers that Central Europe will — in addition to China and the United States of America — become a “top priority region” for ZhongCe Rubber “with immediate effect” and that the SW612 was only the beginning of a series of new tyres especially developed for Central Europe.
As Reifen 2010 draws to a close, organising company Messe Essen is hailing the event as a great success after the company announced that provisional results for the 26th Reifen event show a record 600 exhibitors from 42 countries and over 18,000 trade visitors attended the tyre, retread and vulcanisation related expo. With guests from 127 countries, the fair also set a record also with regard to the internationality of the visitors.
60 per cent of Reifen 2010 visitors travelled to Essen from abroad. International visitors came primarily from Europe (75 per cent), followed by Asia, Africa, America and Australia. 88 per cent of the total visitors are said to have been decision-takers. And the statistics say the show was good for business too, with a third of the visitors having already ordered something and nearly half of the visitors having prepared deals which they want to complete after the fair.
Cooper Avon’s Reifen 2010 location next to the main entrance to Hall Three has helped give the company access to attendees making “good genuine enquiries,” according to European marketing communications manager, Sarah McRoberts. She said Cooper has enjoyed “easy access” to both developed and emerging markets, with visitors from “Eastern Europe, India, China and the Middle East” taking time to speak with the company. Therefore Cooper Avon sees Reifen as a “truly international fair” for the industry, yielding enough business opportunities to make it the “only real” European tyre focused event it attends.

Messe Essen, the fair’s host states that it expects 600 exhibitors from 42 countries, representing a record number of participants, showing innovations for all things black and round (as well as chassis technology, garage equipment and vulcanisation. Reifen 2010 runs until Friday, 4 June.
The Goodyear Farm team is publicising its presence at the annual Cereals show in Royston on 9 and 10 June. According to the company, the team will be highlighting the Optitrac range on its stand, while educating visitors on tyre technology and maintenance.
Goodyear representatives say the new DT818 High Speed (HS) will be at the forefront of the stand. The DT818HS is part of the Optitrac radial drive farm tyre range which comes in 13 popular sizes. High Speed means that the tyres are D speed rated and can operate at speeds up to 44mph (70kph) or at inflation pressures as low as 9psi. At lower operating speeds and for tractors that have a top speed of 25mph (45kph) or 30mph (50kph) these tyres reportedly provide performance advantages being able to carry up to 9.5 per cent more load at same inflation versus the conventional DT818 tyre. Furthermore, DT818 HS can carry the same loads as DT818 at lower inflation pressure thereby, elongating the footprint generating more traction and pull.
TyreCheck, which supplies business automation, CRM, and fleet and tyre management solutions to the global tyre market, has announced that it is launching INContact at Reifen 2010. The latest release reportedly incorporates solutions for the new EU tyre energy labelling system in addition to its enhanced IN (Intelligent Newtech) fleet management and inspection products. Tyre manufacturer Maxxis is showcasing a number of new passenger car tyres and launching its new European product catalogue at this year’s Reifen exhibition in Essen, Germany (1 – 4 June). With the focus on wet grip and low rolling resistance, Maxxis will be exhibiting a new passenger car tyre, a new UHP pattern and an addition to its winter tyre range, as well as the new R19, a purpose-designed rally tyre. There will also be a selection of heavy and light truck tyres on display, according to the company.
Toyo Tires has announced it will again join Micheldever and Protyre at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which the manufacturer describes as a “key event in the motorsport calendar”. Toyo declared itself proud to be associated with its partners at Goodwaood, since “Micheldever is one of the UK’s leading tyre distributors, which also has its own very successful and ever-expanding retail chain, Protyre”.
On 1 June Apollo Tyres chairman Onkar S Kanwar will formally inaugurate the company’s Reifen 2010 show stand in the presence of dignitaries and the global management team from India, South Africa and Europe. The company’s stand opening ceremony follows a press event announcing details of the products Apollo will be introducing into Europe, and “the value of a multi-brand strategy with Apollo, Vredestein and Maloya.”
After only six years in the tyre market, Infinity Tyres’ continuing efforts to increase its brand’s reputation and the awareness of Infinity tyres are embodied in the prominence of the company’s presence at Reifen 2010. As part of a 240 square metre island stand situated within Hall 3, Infinity will be exhibiting its range of passenger and truck tyres. And according to company representative, Infinity tyres sits comfortably amongst the tyre world “giants” exhibiting in Hall 3 at Reifen 2010.
