Battery supplier Manbat has supported three consecutive events in Telford, Birmingham and Paris. “Despite the complication of the timing of the events, two of which ran simultaneously, I’m delighted to say that all three exhibitions were a great success,” said marketing manager Myles Pemberton.
This year’s SEMA Show is on track to be the largest in the event’s 47-year history, Tire Review reports. Already more than 2,500 exhibitors are set to cover more than one million square-feet of floor space at the show in Las Vegas, on 5-8 November. Additionally, more than 130,000 professionals from 130 countries are expected to attend.
The 11th edition of the China International Tire Expo, held earlier this month in Shanghai, attracted 7,303 visitors. This number represents a slight rise in attendance over 2012, and organiser Reliable International Exhibition Services says that 4,263 visitors, or 58 per cent of the total, came from outside China. The 24,000 square metre exhibition space housed 335 exhibitors, ten per cent more than last year.
The National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) has agreed a deal with show organiser ECI International to become the major sponsor of Brityrex International 2014, continuing a long-established relationship between the two organisations. The show will return to EventCity in Manchester between 7 and 9 October. NTDA chairman Stephen Callow welcomed the deal: “The NTDA has enjoyed a close and valuable relationship with Brityrex for many years and I’m extremely pleased that we will be working constructively together with the show again next year.
Korean tyre manufacturer Nexen is to make the its IAA debut when it exhibits at the automobile trade fair from 10 to 22 September in Frankfurt, Germany. Nexen reports that it will present 26 products including six brand new products with the theme “Enjoy NEXEN, Dynamic Driving Partner” at Hall 4.0 Stand C23.
BEN, the automotive industry charity will be celebrating its 108th birthday and the arrival of a new member of staff, Benjamin Bear, during the week 15th – 21st July 2013. The annual celebration, National BEN Week, has become a focus for many supportive industry concerns and this year, with the new theme 'Bear Us In Mind', fundraising expectations are running high. The ‘Bear Us In Mind' theme aims to encourage automotive companies to get their staff involved in having fun whilst raising awareness and funds for the charity. The suggested minimum target of £108, in recognition of BEN's age, reflects 108 years of care and support for automotive industry people.

Maxxis International has promoted Amy Colbourne to the role of marketing manager. Colbourne started with Maxxis International in 2010, when Maxxis made the decision to invest heavily in marketing communications in order to boost its brand profile. She is now responsible for all aspects of marketing in the UK, including activity to support Maxxis distributors and as such the new role will see her take direct control of the marketing budget.
The 15th BEN Scotland Ball, held recently, enjoyed an increase in attendance and raised an impressive £8,000 for the automotive charity.
Calling all keen motorcyclists: BEN – the automotive industry charity, has a very special event planned for you this summer. Between the 22nd and 25th June, riders will embark from the UK on a route through four countries to reach the second highest pass in the Alps – the Stelvio Pass in Italy.
Infinity Tyres and Westlake Tyres will exhibit at Madrid’s aftermarket automotive parts, equipment and services trade show Motortec Automechanika Ibérica. Infinity’s range will be displayed in conjunction with its authorised distributors in the region, Euro Tyre, while Eskay Tyres – Westlake distributor in the UK and certain other European markets – will take a stand to show the Hangzhou Zhongce brand’s passenger and truck and bus ranges.
The manufacturer of TerraClean – a product designed to clean internal engine components by removing harmful carbon deposits without the need to dismantle the engine – is to hold its first conference for its growing network of service centres. Randstad says its new television advertising campaign, to be aired across a number of digital and satellite TV channels, will be previewed at the conference. TerraClean claims to increase the miles per gallon of vehicles by between four and 15 per cent, reduce emissions, extend component life and improve petrol and diesel vehicle performance. The product has won an endorsement from TV motoring specialist and star of The Discovery Channel’s ‘Wheeler Dealers’, Edd China.
Maxxis used its Autosport stand to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The combination of motorsport stars, the company’s own ‘Maxxis Babes’, and a host of racing cars and bikes proved something of a draw for NEC show-goers, with Maxxis turning its pulling power to the Macmillan Cancer Support’s advantage by selling calendars to boost the charity’s coffers.
Aftermarket show Autopromotec has announced details of 2013’s International Automotive Aftermarket Meeting (IAAM13) on 23 May 2013. Previously known as the EAAS (European Automotive Aftermarket Symposium), the conference aims to provide companies and professionals involved in the after-sales sector with an insider's perspective on the trends and developments within the aftermarket industry in Europe, as well as further afield. It will focus on new international channels for sales and marketing activities, both within Europe and selected strategic countries, such as those of the BRIC group (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
