Early next month Euro Bus Expo 2014 is coming to the NEC Birmingham, and GT Radial will attend the show as an exhibitor for the first time. A range of products aimed at the passenger transport segment will be on display at the GT Radial stand, with the GSR225 Combi Road and GAU861 all-position urban city-bus tyres heading a comprehensive portfolio.
Show organisers are hailing the 2014 Latin Auto Parts Expo (held at the ATLAPA Convention Center, Panama, Republic of Panama) was a huge success with NEARLY 200 quality exhibitors and approximately 3,200 qualified visitors from over 60 countries.

Brityrex, the only dedicated tyre exhibition in the UK, opens in Tuesday 7 October. All bona fide members of the trade are welcome to attend the exhibition which runs 7 – 9 October at EventCity. In addition to announcing significant original equipment deals, Hankook Tire is presenting several new commercial vehicles tyres at the IAA show in Germany – the drive axle DM09, the winter AW02 and the e-cube Blue TL20 trailer tyre.
Autoparts hosted what was billed as the midlands’ largest garage equipment trade show on Thursday 25 September at GTG Wolverhampton. The Autoparts ‘A Night at the Track’ themed trade show has been designed to provide visiting mechanics and garage owners with both an informative and entertaining experience. There was the opportunity to take part in a fully hosted ‘track racing’ themed night and, the chance to win a share of more than £20,000 worth of products throughout the evening.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), which is a US state-funded economic development corporation that encourages the continued growth of the state’s auto industry, has booked a pavilion at Automechanika Shanghai. According to the show’s organisers, the Michigan government is keen to use Messe Frankfurt’s enormous industry resources to help foster its auto industry development as the show is an irreplaceable platform for the Michigan’s auto parts companies, which have the world’s leading advanced automotive parts research and development and manufacturing standards to showcase different areas of products and services at the show. It is also interesting to note in light of the ongoing tyre import trade dispute between the US and China.
In partnership with SingEx Exhibitions, IRSG will launch the newly revamped World Rubber Summit (WRS) 2015, which is to be held in Singapore from 24 to 25 March 2015 at MAX Atria@Singapore EXPO. Held under the umbrella of “World Rubber Week”, the event takes place alongside Tyrexpo Asia, IRSG’s Assembly of Nations and other related industry seminars and networking receptions.
Cooper Tire Europe has announced it will return to Rallyday in 2014 with its 4×4 Zone, which reportedly features “a host of 4×4 action” including: Race2Recovery, 4×4 Club Displays and Challenge Truck Demonstrations. Cooper will also be on hand to give tyre advice to 4×4 drivers, whilst showcasing its Armor-Tek3 heavy-duty carcass construction.
Palexpo has unveiled the latest Geneva International Motor Show poster ahead of the 2015 exhibition. According to the organisers the poster for the 85th edition of the show (which runs from 5-15 March 2015) was designed in a competition by visual communication students from Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), under the direction of Jonas Voegeli. The winners, Monika Regina Nef and Nico Bucci, drew inspiration from various car components. Their striking illustration of a headlight symbolises a future-oriented attitude.
Following the conclusion of Citexpo 2014 on 11 September, all initial figures point to the event being the most successful in the international tyre show’s history…by some way. Indeed, with this year’s unaudited visitor total said to have been around the 11,000 mark, the 2014 show could have grown by as much as 50 per cent since the last event, which attracted just over 7,000 visitors.
NTDA director Stefan Hay says next month’s Brityrex International in Manchester will be the business and social high point of the UK tyre industry calendar for 2014. The biennial, three-day show is the only dedicated trade-only exhibition that brings together UK and international suppliers of tyres, garage equipment, tools, consumables, IT and training services inside the UK.
Citexpo 2014 opened its doors today to what looks like will be record breaking numbers of visitors by the end of the week. According to Reliable Exhibitions (the show organiser), China International Tire Expo, as it is more formally known, saw at least 5,200 visitors pass through the doors of the Shanghai Everbright Exhibition Centre during the course of the opening day. Inside, visitors found large, modern stands from the show’s 348 exhibitors (up 13 on last year’s total) spread across four halls for the first time in the show’s 12-year history.
