A further 33 products have entered the Klarius emissions control range, including catalytic converters (CATs) and diesel particulate filters (DPFs) for multiple models of the Ford Focus. All components in the Klarius range are available with a Fit First Time guarantee, a two-year warranty and next morning delivery to stockists and distributors.
BM Catalysts, which makes catalytic converters, DPFs and front pipes reports that it has “further boosted its capacity to supply products throughout Europe in order to meet ongoing demand” The company is currently exporting to more than 35 countries worldwide.
Klarius has announced that new exhausts are now available to fit the Toyota Urban Cruiser 1.3 crossover, Toyota Auris 1.4 and 2.0 hatchback as well as the Toyota Verso TR MPV. There are also replacements to fit the Vauxhall Zafira 1.4 from 2012 onwards and the Kia Venga 1.4 and 1.6 from 2010 onwards. Furthermore, diesel particulate filters (DPFs) are now in range for Alfa Romeo Mito and Citroen Nemo 1.2.

2020 provided a turbulent 12 months for the humble MOT. At the start of the year, the centralised testing conducted on the island of Ireland was thrown into disarray after faulty vehicle lifts were found on both sides of the border. At the same time, the latest full-year 2019/2020 DVSA vehicle testing data has now been released, so we can also learn more about how last year’s projections compared with the end results in the months preceding the pandemic and what this might mean in terms of tyre demand.
BM Catalysts is reassuring business partners that it is “business as usual” despite the second UK national lockdown.
According to the company, “The team has implemented strict procedures and systems to ensure we can continue trading as normal, in the safest way possible, while adhering to Government guidelines.”
Garages are not required to close during lockdown since the aftermarket has been assigned ‘key worker’ status. This, combined with the delay in MOTs, will lead to a “very busy” fourth quarter of 2020, according to Klarius CEO and former Goodyear UK MD, Mark Brickhill.
As the UK went into lockdown earlier in the year in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Government announced an extension to the MOT period, giving motorists up to an additional six months before their vehicle had to undergo its yearly ‘health check’ for roadworthiness. The inevitable result of this has seen a backlog of vehicles awaiting testing and an unprecedented number of MOTs now on the horizon, despite advice and warnings from the trade and authorities not to leave things to the last minute.

Manchester Crown Court cleared five current and past directors and managers of Klarius Products Ltd of charges of selling non-typed approved catalytic converters on 3 December. The case, which was brought by the DVSA, had alleged that between 01/02/2013 and 30/08/2015 the business of Klarius Products Ltd, carried on for fraudulent purposes, the marketing, distribution and sale of counterfeit and non-type approved catalytic converters.
