Eduardo Minardi is to relocate to Brussels to make the role of executive chairman, Bridgestone Europe (BSEU) his primary responsibility. Minardi previously served as Bridgestone Americas chief operating officer and chairman, CEO & president of Bridgestone Tire Operations concurrently with the BSEU role he assumed 1 January, 2014.
TyreSafe shares that Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is the latest tyre maker to sign up as a member. Cooper Tire Europe’s 4×4 ambassador Xavi Foj took third place in the Dakar Rally, following an epic fightback. Foj has used Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx tyres in the past three Dakar events, claiming T2 Class victories in 2012 and 2013. After a difficult opening to his 2014 Dakar campaign, including brake issues and an electronic problem, hopes of a hat-trick faded.

According to the company, Yulex’s Seed & Genetics Center will support the global commercial development of guayule. Continental’s newly-published provisional key figures for the 2013 fiscal year show the tyre and automotive component maker achieved an adjusted EBIT margin of 11.2 per cent, comfortably beating the target of at least 10.5 per cent set last November. Year-on-year sales increased slightly, rising from €32.7 billion to €33.3 billion.
