Nexen Tire has published the 2020/21 edition of its ESG Report. This document follows up the inaugural report of 2019/20 by expressing the tyre maker’s commitment to expand ESG management and become a fully-fledged customer-oriented organisation, and the report thus provides an update of progress made in ESG-related areas as well as efforts in the fields of environment, society, and governance.
Hankook has published its 2020/21 ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Report. The document details the company’s sustainable management activities, responsible governance, integrated environmental management, climate change response, community involvement and development, transparency and business ethics, employee value creation, employee safety and health management, and win-win partnership in the supply chain. It also presents Hankook’s 2030 goals and the strategies of the recently launched ESG committee within the board of directors. The committee will be responsible for consulting, deliberating, and recommending regarding environmental, social and governance businesses.
Bridgestone Corporation has gained a ‘Prime’ designation in the ISS ESG Corporate Rating, with an effective date of March 2021. This is the first occasion that Bridgestone has received a ‘Prime’ rating from ISS ESG.
The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has expressed pride in its inclusion in two stock indices that focus on companies with strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices – the FTSE4Good Index Series and the FTSE Blossom Japan Index. This is the 16th consecutive year that Yokohama Rubber has been included in the global FTSE4Good Index Series, and the company considers its continued selection further confirmation that its ESG activities and disclosure practices “meet the highest global standards.” It is also the fourth year in a row that Yokohama Rubber has appeared on the FTSE Blossom Japan Index.
Toyo Tire Corporation has been selected as the member of three ESG indexes: the FTSE4Good, FTSE Blossom Japan and the SOMPO sustainability index.
Pirelli holds the distinction of being the only company within the automotive components sector to achieve ‘Gold Class’ in the SAM Sustainability Yearbook 2020. Other tyre makers to gain a ranked position in the Yearbook were Hankook Tire & Technology and Nokian Tyres, which both achieved SAM Bronze Class, and Bridgestone Corporation, which was acknowledged as a Sustainability Yearbook Member.
The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has welcomed leading manufacturer in commercial vehicle warning and safety products, ECCO Safety Group (ESG) EMEA to its membership.
Yokohama Rubber stock has been selected for inclusion in two additional indices that focus on the stocks of companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. In addition to the FTSE Russell FTSE4Good Index, which it has been a component of for 13 consecutive years, Yokohama Rubber has been newly included in FTSE Russell’s FTSE Blossom Japan Index and MSCI Inc.’s MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index.
