Pirelli has launched the latest generation of its adventure-touring motorcycle tyre series in the Scorpion Trail III. The manufacturer describes the new tyre as the “sportiest ever on asphalt” among its Scorpion range; the tyres was designed for modern adventure and crossover motorcycles. Its versatility, the result of Pirelli R&D’s latest technologies and materials, means that the tyre is suitable for use on dirt roads as well as on asphalt. Pirelli uses the Scorpion name to indicate tyre products intended for off-road use. It is present in two- and four-wheel competitions such as the Enduro World Championship and the Motocross World Championship. Pirelli categorises the Scorpion Trail III as a street enduro tyre.
Mitas will provide its Terra Force branded tyres to renowned Italian motorcycle manufacturer Beta Motorcycles in a new original equipment partnership for the off-road market. Mitas said the Terra Force-EF Super passed numerous rigorous performance tests to meet Beta’s requirements. Designed for Fast Enduro, the tyre will be fitted to the 2024 Beta Xtrainer 250 and 300 models.
Mitas is launching a new tread pattern in its adventure range, the Enduro Trail-ADV, which the company says “reflects the true spirit of modern adventure riders and delivers superb performance on and off the road.”
Announcing a second partnership in as many weeks, Kenda and official UK importer Cambrian Tyres are pleased to confirm the brand’s status as official tyre of the Mick Extance Off-Road Experience Centre. As part of the new arrangement, Cambrian will supply the centre with Kenda motocross and enduro tyres.
MCE 6 Days Extreme, Metzeler’s tyre family for enduro competitions, has grown with the introduction of the new Extra Soft rear specification specially developed for extreme enduro races. The MCE 6 Days Extreme Extra Soft rear in size 140/80–18 70M NHS is a specialist tyre suitable for one-day competitions and special stages.
Dunlop rider Erik Willems was crowned 2022 Enduro European Champion following the final meeting of the season in Rudersdorf, Germany. The Belgian rider raced a Husqvarna with standard Dunlop Geomax EN91 tyres, winning both the overall and E2 classes. The victory marks the continuation of a successful partnership between rider and tyre supplier. In 2021, Willems raced with Dunlop in the enduro Junior World Championship and moved up to win the European Championship in his debut season at the top of European enduro competition.
Pirelli has announced a technical partnership with three-time Downhill world champion Fabien Barel for the development of a new line of Scorpion mountain bike tyres aimed specifically at the world of Gravity Racing (Downhill and Enduro racing).
Junior fitments are joining the Mitas extreme enduro tyre range. These new sizes have been developed for use on motorcycles with engine displacements of 50cc to 85cc, and Mitas says they “ensure incredible grip and stability in all conditions the rider can face in extreme enduro.” The Trelleborg Group brand adds that the tyres are suitable for riders of all levels of competence, from novices to competitive riders, due to their “excellent handling characteristics and grip.”
The new Kenda Knarly extreme enduro tyre is now available in the UK via well-known two-wheel tyre specialist wholesaler Cambrian Tyres.
Developed in conjunction with top US pro riders, the road legal Knarly features a soft compound front and supersoft compound rear designed to tackle the very toughest of obstacles.
