Well-known online tyre retail business Blackcircles has launched a website in Thailand. The business, which entrepreneur Mike Welch OBE founded at the turn of the millennium and sold to Michelin for £50 million in 2015, can be found at blackcircles.co.th.
CAM is embarking on a mentoring programme for its UniSerV users over the next six months, consolidating its major investment in both the platform and to the UniSerV User Group forum over the past five years.

On 6 June Continental announced that it will prohibit the use of WhatsApp and Snapchat on company-owned mobile phones due to GDPR compliance concerns. The measure applies to all of Continental’s global locations and affects more than 36,000 mobile phones.
Dealer Tire, LLC has announced that it is making “a significant investment” in SimpleTire, a Philadelphia-based online tyre retailer that has developed an e-commerce platform and network of independent tyre distributors. Terms of Dealer Tire’s investment were not disclosed. The news follows Dealer Tire’s decision to invest in Tyrata – a Duke University tyre sensor and data startup – in February 2018.

A new initiative involving medium-sized fleet tyre service providers is taking place in June, marking the inaugural Fitter-Force Forum hosted by CAM.
The roundtable will bring together early adopters of the new Fitter-Force platform developed by CAM who have committed to the initiative including road-testing the platform ahead of its roll-out. These include AA Tyremaster of Dublin, Paul Jarrold Tyres from Monmouth, Quality Assured Fleet Services in Oldham, S Tyres in Cork, and Three Counties Tyre Services based in Milton Keynes.
Cork-based S Tyres Ltd. is investing in CAM Cloud to host its Cameo POS, stock, billing and ledgers system. According to the company, hosted Cameo will provide the Republic of Ireland’s premier Bandag agent with a managed service that ensures quality, hassle-free maintenance of its server and backup solution. It will enable S Tyres to connect directly with key partners such as Bridgestone.
The new Fitter-Force platform from CAM is designed to remove many back-office costs and inaccuracies associated with the manual completion of service work for small to medium-sized fleet tyre service operators, while also improving customer service through operational responsiveness.

With India already the world’s second-largest internet user, and online transactions expected to rise rapidly in the next few years, the company is pursuing a strategy to reach the top spot in what is one of the largest developing tyre markets too. Lead by former Siemens executive Sanjeev Agrawal, and with UK online tyre retailer Blackcircles.com founder Michael Welch OBE on board as strategic adviser and shareholder, Tyremarket.com states that it is “on track for market leading position in the $5 billion plus domestic replacement market.”
