Interstate All Terrain tyre to make debut at Latin American Tyre Expo

Interstate has announced that it will launch a new all-terrain tyre for the US market at the Latin American & Caribbean Tyre Expo – the first A/T American exclusive in the Benelux-based distributor’s range. The Interstate Tracer A/T will be available immediately following its preview at the Interstate dealer meeting just before the Panama expo, which takes place on 24-27 July. The tyre will be available in 10 LT/SUV fitments, with three-ply tread and/or three-ply sidewall construction in select sizes.

Wheelwright appointed UK MAK wheels distributor

Wheelwright has been appointed official distributor for premium Italian wheel manufacturer MAK in the UK. The wheel supplier says MAK is at the forefront of cutting edge design with a range that covers almost every market, fitment and type of vehicle. MAK’s commercial range includes both five and six-stud fitments and load indexing to cover the heaviest and toughest applications. Wheelwright managing director Kevin Greer pronounced the company “delighted” to have added the “peerless” MAK brand to its portfolio.

Nankang pursues UK growth with West Bromwich distribution site

With a product range encompassing a good range of high and ultra high performance fitments at an economical price-point, Taiwanese manufacturer Nankang’s potential in the UK market has always been clear. However, the brand’s UK representatives believe that its profile and perceived brand positioning in the country could be raised in line with its European activities. Committing to achieve these goals, the brand’s dis-tributor in the UK, Westlands Ltd, has taken up the new name Nankang Tyre UK, and joint managing directors Steve Smith and Scott Graham will head up the project.

Hangzhou Zhongce flagship brand Westlake Tyres has held its first UK Partners Day with authorised UK distributor for TBR tyres, Vacu-Lug. The event was held at the Land Rover Experience Centre at Rockingham Castle, Leicestershire where the brand and its distributor combined the presentation of Westlake’s TBR tyre line-up with some “serious off-roading.”

More high performance OE fitments for Yokohama

Yokohama has been selected as original equipment tyre provider by Audi and Mercedes-Benz for a number of the German brands’ latest high performance cars. The newest addition to Yokohama’s high performance range, the recently-unveiled Advan Sport V105, has been adopted by both on some of their most rewarding drivers’ cars. Additionally Yokohama tyres were used recently to break a Nürburgring Nordschleife record for the fastest road-legal Subaru Impreza around the Green Hell. Built by Yokohama partner Revolution Motorstore in the UK, the Impreza was driven to and from the Nordschleife having lapped the circuit in 7:53.08.

Falken TBR “expanding” in UK & Ireland – Philip White Tyres

Philip White Tyres has been a principal dealer of Falken tyres for over 20 years, and the distributor will continue to supply the brand to customers in the region. The partnership with Falken formed in the early 1990s has seen the development of the Falken brand receive key recognition among the UK and Irish commercial truck & bus market. Aeolus 'creating a name for itself' in UK CV tyre market

Chinese TBR manufacturer, Aeolus made its first appearance as an exhibitor at the CV Show at the 2013 edition. Appearing alongside its UK distributor Kings Road Tyres, the manufacturer says its presence resulted in product sales and strong visitor feedback. The fast-growing brand is trying to increase awareness in the UK, and amongst its range were two new patterns: the ASR69 and ADR69 truck tyres which are now available in popular sizes 295/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 315/80R22.5.

Kirkby increases Sailun exposure with CV Show stand

Kirkby Tyres’ Commercial Vehicle Show stand gave over a large proportion of its Hall Five space to displaying Sailun Tyres’ 16-strong range of TBR tyres. One of major UK distributors of truck, agricultural, plant and quad tyres, Kirkby are the sole distributor of Sailun truck tyres in the UK and Ireland. The distributor was pleased with the number of enquiries about the range, and went as far as to say that it was “our best ever.”

Triangle buys 10% share of TYM International

Triangle and TYM International have jointly announced the Chinese tyre manufacturer’s purchase of a 10 per cent share of its UK distributor’s business. TYM International general manager, Steve Eke and Triangle Group board chairman, Ding Yuhua exchanged documents during the Triangle Group’s 2013 Global Business Summit at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel, Shanghai on 18 May. The purchase is currently subject to ratification by the Commerce Department of the Chinese Government, though both parties are confident that the deal will proceed smoothly. This year marks the tenth anniversary of TYM’s distribution of Triangle passenger car, truck and bus, and off-the-road products and Eke told Tyrepress.com that he was very pleased to have converted “the customer-supplier relationship into a partner relationship.”
