Car tyre wholesaler Stapletons has announced a number of operational changes as the first step in a strategy to focus on customer service and improved efficiency. Apaseal has announced “a new active partnership” with tyre repair material manufacturer Tech International. The announcement follows Apaseal’s key supply partner model. Other partners include Corghi for equipment, Dionys Hofmann for balancing weights and Schrader for the companies valve needs.

Trelleborg has acquired the French company Cimap Roues Industrielles SAS, which is part of the family-owned CIMAP Group, through its Trelleborg Wheel Systems business.
Cimap Roues Industrielles, which holds a leading position in industrial tyres in France, has been a distributor of Trelleborg’s industrial tyres since 1999. The company has annual sales of approximately 40 million Swedish Krone and some 10 employees at its head office in Paris and at a distribution centre in Bordeaux.
Automotive parts manufacturer Remy Automotive UK has relocated its UK Head Office to a new 61,080 sq. ft. complex at Burntwood in Warwickshire.
Group Tyre UK member Broadway Tyres has just completed and commissioned a new 16,000 sq. ft. warehouse, adjoining the High Wycombe administration and distribution centre.
The warehouse is designed to receive bulk container deliveries and is capable of handling up to 25,000 tyres. It increases Broadway’s capacity by 35 per cent and customers should experience even better levels of service, according to managing director Jonathan West, who said: “This is a major investment which will ensure that we can provide an in-depth service with immediate turnaround to our distribution partners, retail stockists and the many motor dealers, whose tyre needs we manage.”
Goodyear Europe’s CEO Mike Roney is to become the new chief executive of distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl PLC.
Currently a non-executive director of the company Roney will take over from Anthony Habgood as of 1 November. Company chairman, Habgood, took on the executive role after the unexpected withdrawal of CEO-designate Christoph Sander in June.

The new group will be called “Uniwheels United Wheels Group,” the company has reported. As a result Rial’s Polish production unit, Rial Aluguss, will immediately be renamed “Uniwheels Production (Poland) Sp.zo.o.” However the firm’s existing distribution companies (Rial Leichtmetalfelgen GmbH, Alutec Leichtmetalfelgen GmbH and ARC Alurad GmbH/Wheels24.com) will keep their existing names.
