Launch UK is set to attend Automechanika Birmingham 2016, exhibiting its full range of automotive diagnostic tools on stand 10K14 from 7 – 9 June at the NEC in Birmingham. Amongst other products, Launch reports it will present its X431 range of OE level diagnostic equipment to the UK market at the prestigious event.
Launch UK has supplied the University of Bath with its telematics solution, the PRO 3, enabling students to carry out real-time remote diagnostic checks on vehicles.
Alongside exceptional teaching standards and student satisfaction, the university has a long-standing reputation for excellence in automotive engineering and has been conducting prize-winning automotive research for more than four decades.
The Independent Garage Association’s (IGA) Diagnostic Specialist Award has been developed to showcase the diagnostic abilities of independent garages to consumers and fleets through a robust technical assessment.
The accreditation will recognise the diagnostic capability of an independent garage and verify that they have the ability to communicate with the latest technology in cars. The brand will, by its very nature, signpost independents to fleet operators and consumers who own and operate new cars.
Autodata has purchased Autodata Oy Nordic, an official distributor in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia for over 34 years. The acquisition comes a year after Autodata launched a completely new online product to provide workshops with technical information, instructions and diagnostics. Autodata Oy Nordic will take on the Autodata brand, but will retain their current offices based in Pälkäne.
Launch UK is offering a 24 month warranty on key diagnostic products. The warranty covers products including: Launch CRP123 CReader Professional; Launch CRP129 CReader Professional; Launch CRP229 CReader professional; Launch X431 Euro Pad; Launch X431 Euro Pad II; Launch X431 Pro; and Launch X431 Pro II.
Euro Car Parts is teaming up with Autologic to supply diagnostics equipment to independent workshops. The deal will see the independent parts supplier distribute diagnostics into garages in direct completion with franchise networks.
Hamaton is launching a new sensor for the European aftermarket this summer. The EU-PRO 2 sensor is the latest generation from Hamaton and designed to complement the existing EU-PRO sensor
According to the company, the second sensor in the Hamaton range significantly raises the EU-Pro and EU-Pro 2 combined coverage of current TPMS equipped, vehicles to almost 97 per cent. Hamaton reports that the new EU-Pro 2, like the current EU-Pro, can be configured in only two to three seconds and can now be configured by Ateq, Teconomotor, Texa and very soon Brain Bee, TPMS diagnostic tools. Therefore the EU-Pro is said to configure 10 times faster than some popular sensors.
Launch UK has released a new Android-based diagnostic tool. The touch-screen X431 Euro Pad II uses the same vehicle diagnostic software as previous Launch X431 scan tools, but also features improved multi-manufacturer vehicle coverage, powerful special functions, accurate and ultra-fast live data and graphing, along with module coding capacities.
Bosch has launched a diagnostic tool, which the company says its “flagship” model. The DCU 220 is designed to be a “future-proof diagnostic solution, giving businesses the ability to tackle the increasing number of complex vehicles on the road”, according to Bosch. Indeed, the company reports that the DCU220 combines the features of a traditional notebook with those of a tablet.
ZF Services UK, the UK after sales business unit of the global driveline and chassis technology company ZF Friedrichshafen AG, has opened a new Technical Training Centre to meet growing demand from distributors and customers for its expertise. The centre, at Crick, Northamptonshire, comprises a classroom and fully equipped workshop with ramps, ZF-Testman diagnostic equipment and specialised tools, plus a variety of vehicles for practical demonstrations and for technicians to work on.
DriveRight, a leading independent supplier of wheel and tyre data is partnering with autoaid, a German supplier of internet-based vehicle diagnosis software. Alba Diagnostics has added a new device to its range of hand-held diagnostic tools. The Amp Hound is designed to measure amps and reduce the amount of time to determine the current in a fused circuit.
According to the company, Amp Hound removes the need to take out fuses one at a time before checking each circuit with a multimeter. With the Amp Hound it is now possible to check the complete fuse box quickly and effectively.
