Lovetyres.com appears to be the first tyre retail website in the UK (and potentially even the world) to offer customers the opportunity to filter their search results by label data. The feature went live on the website about 10 days ago, but with a few blanks from particular sources. However with the rules taking effect imminently manufacturers should be populating their data now if they haven't already done so.
Telemetry and M2M solutions provider Concirrus and UK-based vehicle tracking and fleet management solution supplier CMS SupaTrak have announced that that PressurePro’s tyre pressure information will be integrated into their new EcoTyre solution.
Corghi has launched a new app for the iPad, an interactive tool for discovering and browsing the Italian brand's product range. Corghi revealed a preview version of the app at the Automechanika show in Germany, and Corghi says it received an “enthusiastic response and positive comments” from visitors who “couldn't wait to try this tool.” The Italian manufacturer says the app will change the way clients interact with the Corghi world.

US-based OTR tyre company Eurotire has launched a new app for iPhone and Android users. Eurotire claims the app is the first of its kind and says it “brings a range of easily accessible tyre data for large mining equipment – no matter how remote their location.”

The Association of British Drivers (ABD) has criticised the call by some Liberal Democrats to impose a 20-mph speed limit in all residential areas, effectively replacing the 30 limit by 20.

Commercial tyre specialist AC Tyres is to streamline job sheet processing with its adoption of Cam Systems’ Document Manager. Continental states that it tested around 500 truck and bus tyres in preparation for releasing its European label results on 1 July. The German tyre maker says it has now integrated all measured tyre data into the company’s existing internal and external SAP-supported computer systems and made it available to retailers. Unlike passenger car and van tyres, no physical label will be affixed to individual truck and bus tyres, however. Instead, Continental and its sales partners will list the data in the technical documents for the products, at points of sale, on the internet and on invoices.
