TYM’s Steve Eke running the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK

Steve Eke, 52 of Kings Lynn, will be joining the fight against prostate cancer by running this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK.

On Sunday 22 April Steve will be pounding the pavements across the capital’s fabled 26.2 mile course to support the leading men’s health charity against a disease that kills one man every hour. He will be a part of Prostate Cancer UK’s 180-strong squad, all raising money to stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Midwest raises further funds for Bilston Town FC

West Midlands-based automotive parts distributor, Midwest Motor Factors, has raised £1,214 for Bilston Town Football Club, as part of its ongoing commitment to proactively support the local community. The cheque was presented to the club by Arnold Clark aftersales director Stewart MacAulay, on behalf of Midwest, owned by Arnold Clark. The money will cover the cost of the installation of new showers for the players.

Nottingham-based automotive parts supplier, SMPE, has donated much-needed funds to the British Heart Foundation, by organising a ‘Wear Pink or Red’ event held on Valentine’s Day, in support of Heart Month.

Randstad, via its engine decarbonising brand TerraClean, has donated more than £200 to The Dave Rayner Fund in memory of West Surrey Racing’s Simon Wood (aka Tippa), who passed away suddenly in December.

Transaid launches “biggest ever” cycle challenge

International development organisation Transaid has launched its biggest ever cycle challenge, inviting riders from across the industry to saddle up and take on an epic 972-mile journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 2019 – with options for teams of riders to share the challenge.

Midwest donates to local homeless charity

West Midlands based automotive parts distributor, Midwest Motor Factors, has donated much-needed funds to the Good Shepherd Ministry, a local charity that assists the homeless and others in need in Wolverhampton. Midwest donated £250 to the ministry in memory of popular Bilston Town FC chairman and community champion Graham Hodson, who died earlier this year.

General Tire donates to Children’s Air Ambulance

General Tire, supported by Micheldever Tyre Services, has raised £14,000 for the Children’s Air Ambulance since they formed a partnership two years ago.

The current total has been achieved thanks to an on-going commitment from the MTS network of General Tire independent tyre dealers fundraising at individual business sites, as well as funds donated from various General Tire events.

Dunlop’s global motorsport family unites to help Macmillan

The global Dunlop Motorsport organisation has taken part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – dubbed Dunlop’s Fastest Coffee Morning in recognition of the participation of sporting stars – to raise funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support, the brand’s corporate charity. The events taking place today (Friday 29 September) included contributions from Drivers and team members from the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series.

VMI raises over 96,000 Euro with Duchenne Heroes

The VMI Duchenne Heroes team completed recently complete a seven day mountain bike tour for charity. A team of 38 mountain bikers and 14 support team members have raised over 96,000 Euros for the Duchenne Parent Project.

Goodyear’s credit controller braves the shave for Macmillan

A Goodyear Dunlop UK employee has marked her fifth anniversary of being cancer free by shaving off her hair and raising almost £2000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Linda Clarke, a credit controller at Goodyear Dunlop, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma six years ago at the age of 42 and underwent a year of intensive chemotherapy at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Michelin cycling team raises over £2000 for charity

A team of Michelin employees successfully cycled up Mount Ventoux in France and raised over £2,000 in the process. The adventure forms the first leg in a series of challenges to raise funds for Michelin’s chosen charity for 2017 – the Peter Pan Centre. The charity offers care, support and education to children from birth to the age of 5 with special needs, which can range from visual and hearing impairments through to chromosomal abnormalities and life limiting conditions.

Merityre raises over £1,000 for charity from car show event

Merityre Specialists Ltd held their charity car show at their Andover, Hampshire branch on 30 July 2017, raising over £1,000 for a local charity.

According to the company, the sun shone as Merityre’s main warehouse yard steadily filled up with an array of over 50 cars, including a life-size model of Mater from the Disney Pixar’s Cars franchise, a hillclimb champion Ginetta G33 and a classic Ferrari 308 GTB, alongside a real mix of show cars, modified cars and classic cars. The promise of ‘something for everyone’ stood true, as enthusiasts young and old enjoyed the selection on display.

Sailun raises 10,000 euros for World Child Cancer charity in Bologna

During May’s Autopromotec 2017 in Bologna Sailun held a prize draw, and received customer donations and pledges of over 5000 euros, which Sailun matched to make a donation of 10,000 euros to the World Child Cancer charity.
