Survey: Stress a big issue in automotive industry

Automotive benevolent fund, Ben, recently conducted a survey which found that automotive industry employers identified stress as a major issue affecting employees.

A total of 70 per cent of respondents to the employer survey said stress had most affected their employees’ health and wellbeing – particularly those in the manufacturing and retail sectors. This was also reflected in the latest employee survey, with 57 per cent saying they are stressed at work, 47 per cent are stressed at home and 35 per cent are stressed at work and home.

This year’s Ben Charity Cricket Match, sponsored by FPS Distribution, is taking place at Dorridge Cricket Club on Thursday 12 September 2019. The organisers states that it has been pleased with the initial response, but would welcome more participants.

Pirelli celebrates biggest family day with Burton Albion FC

Pirelli celebrated 90 years of manufacturing at its UK headquarters in Burton upon Trent with its biggest Family Day celebration yet, held jointly with Burton Albion Football Club. The Family Day took place at the Pirelli Stadium, which is located a few hundred metres down the road from Pirelli’s UK headquarters in Burton. Pirelli UK Chairman and CEO, Dominic Sandivasci, along with Burton Albion FC Chairman, Ben Robinson, and club captain, Jake Buxton, opened the event.

NAMA’s 50th AGM raises £24,000 for Great Ormond Street

The National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) held its annual AGM on the 18 May in the Algarve, Portugal. A charity auction in aid of Great Ormond Street Children’s hospital took place following the AGM, raising £24,000.

Burton Albion, Pirelli raise £3000 for The Brain Tumour Charity

Funds raised by football fans parking at the Pirelli site on Derby Road have helped to raise £3000 for The Brain Tumour Charity. Pirelli and Burton Albion FC have worked together for a number of years, and more recently supporters have been using the Pirelli car park – next to the Pirelli Stadium – on match days. In total, £2,500 has been raised by this activity. Pirelli itself donated an additional £500 to bring the overall amount donated to The Brain Tumour Charity to £3,000. This follows a similar donation in 2017, when £2,500 was raised.

Kwik Fit and BTCC to support Children with Cancer UK

Following the news that Kwik Fit has chosen Children with Cancer UK as its charity of the year, the leading fast-fit firm has announced that it is utilising its BTCC sponsorship over the 2019 season to raise funds for the charity.

The announcement is being made at the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) stand at Autosport International, the first public event for the BTCC under the new title sponsorship for 2019.
