Bridgestone is donating 1 million euros to efforts to offer relief to those struck by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Writing in a statement released on 14 February, company officials said:
ATS Euromaster is supplying tyres to charity Nadiya and community group Help Ukraine BAMK UK that are taking a medical convoy providing urgently required medics to Ukraine. The charity approached ATS Euromaster for 20 tyres to outfit four vehicles on a tight timeframe of seven days from request to convoy departure.
CAM has donated groceries to a selection of customers’ local food banks around the UK, replacing its usual Christmas gifts. The donation recognises the widespread cost of living crisis being felt around the country, with food poverty expected to be experienced by many households this winter.
Continental is donating rubber paving stones made from recycled Extreme E tyres for the construction of a community basketball court in Hanover. According to Continental, 200 Extreme E tyres have been recycled from the first season. The Extreme E tyres underwent “a particularly complex manufacturing process to extract all chemical components from the tyres” before transforming them into paving stones. Now the tyres will be given a second life as the foundation of a high-level basketball court.
SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Ollie Ollerton and Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja, star of Netflix’s 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, reached the summit of Ama Dablam in Nepal ahead of Armistice Day on 11th November. The pair, both former Special Boat Services operatives, led an expedition up the 6,812m-high Nepalese mountain, accompanied by other former Special Forces soldiers and Royal Marines Commandos. The group climbed the mountain to honour the many British service personnel who have given their lives in conflict and in support of the Royal British Legion. Ollie Ollerton has been supported by Davanti Tyres’ all-terrain tyre – the Terratoura – during his training in the run-up to the expedition.
Davanti Tyres has presented MSB Woolton FC, one of Europe’s largest grassroots football clubs, with a donation of £3,000 after its storage units packed with sporting and fitness equipment were burned down in an arson attack. The tyre brand acted in partnership with Everton FC to assist; Davanti is the Premier League club’s global official tyre partner. Davanti is a long-term supporter of grassroots sport in the North-West of England where it is headquartered.
A team of 40 riders drawn from the transport and logistics industry have completed a 505km cycle challenge across southern Malawi in soaring temperatures, pedalling through the spectacular Liwonde National Park to raise more than £205,000 towards Transaid’s projects in sub-Saharan Africa. The remarkable sum of money adds to the £25,000 raised by the 16 riders who took on Hadrian’s Cycleway over two days in September. Combined, the non-restricted funds will be used by Transaid to focus on improving road safety and increasing access to healthcare in rural communities.
Omni United has announced that the company will continue supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world. The announcement comes as October marks the start of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Omni United has been supporting BCRF since 2011. Over the years it has donated $1.4 million to BCRF, which has fuelled 28,000 hours of research.

A team of 47 colleagues from VMI facilities in Epe, the Netherlands and Leszno, Poland participated in the Stelvio for Life challenge on Saturday 3 September. With this, they raised over 86,000 euros in the fight against cancer.
On Sunday 21 August 2022, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution thanked its partners at Ford UK for the continuation of its “tide tracks” campaign raising awareness of key beach safety advice. For its part, Ford fitted custom tyres onto some lifeguard vehicles in order to leave key water safety messages pressed into the sand via bespoke tyre treads.
The charity, Speed Of Sight, is hosting an off-road track day for disabled people to enable them to drive at Cardenden Motocross Track in Lochgelly – its first event in Scotland in five years. The event is taking place Monday 15 August 2022 from 10am to 4pm. The track is less than an hour away from Edinburgh and just over an hour from Glasgow. Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) announced it will temporarily pause its Helly Hansen operations in Russia, which include its retail stores, eCommerce site and product shipments in a 4 March 2022 statement, which said: “The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is tragic and deeply concerning and CTC’s priority will continue to be protecting the safety and well-being of its employees. During this temporary pause in operations, store employees will continue to be paid and supported and the company will continue to honour its commercial obligations.”
Pirelli is donating 500,000 euros to help Ukranian refugees stricken by the war. In addition, the company will also establish a bank account accessible to its employees to collect their donations.
