Kumho Tyres Australia will support breast cancer charity the McGrath Foundation on 4 May through its nationwide ‘Pink Fitters Day’. Staff at more than 250 Kumho dealers throughout Australia will don pink shirts that day and the company will donate AU$5 (£3.40) from every tyre sold to the charity; the company aims to raise $50,000 to help support the work of the McGrath Foundation’s Breast Care Nurses.
Julian Huppert, MP for Cambridge, has been named Road Safety Parliamentarian of the Month by the road safety charity Brake and Direct Line Group for his work campaigning for 20mph limits in his constituency and across the UK.
The GO 20 coalition, launched by Brake in Road Safety Week 2012, calling for 20mph to become the norm across built-up areas, so children and adults can walk and cycle for their health and enjoyment, and for cheap and sustainable travel, without being or feeling endangered.

Hankook Tyre UK has a diverse product portfolio, but when it comes to Easter the company has put all its eggs in one basket – and donated them to local charities and centres for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism. The tyre maker has donated hundred of Easter eggs to the Daventry-based Sure Start Children’s Centre, The Cube Disability, a centre for adults with learning disabilities and autism, and Northampton based charity Kidsaid.
Hankook says its market share in Britain is on the rise, and this has led to the need for an additional local stock holding facility. The company has established a new warehouse in Daventry to meet its requirements, and recently celebrated the opening of the new facility. Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, patron of charity Transaid – a charity also supported by the tyre maker – joined staff at Hankook’s new Daventry warehouse on 7 February, where she officially opened the new stock holding facility.

BEN has announced the date for its 2013 BEN Scotland Ball. An acknowledged highlight of the Scottish automotive calendar, the Ball is now in its 15th year and is returning to the prestigious Crowne Plaza Hotel Glasgow on Saturday 2nd March 2013. The Ball is a key fundraising event for BEN which, thanks to activities such as a charity auction, traditionally raises a substantial sum for the charity.
Staff at Motor Wheel Service Distribution donated more than 20 gifts towards the Mission Christmas campaign, run by regional radio station Key 103 and charity Cash for Kids. The charity aimed to collect 150,000 toys to provide one in three children living in severe poverty in the Greater Manchester area with a present from Santa. MWSD provided toys for young children including books, dinosaurs, building blocks and dolls.

Within the 2013 Pirelli Calendar are 23 photographs of 11 actresses, singers and models – all fully clothed this time – plus nine images of “daily life and two photos entirely composed of graffiti and murals.
