Study suggests cars could outgrow UK parking spaces
A new study suggests that car manufacturers continue to expand the average size of vehicles, sparking concerns that they may become too large for current UK parking spots. According to data from digital car finance lender, Carmoola, and valuations partner, Brego, modern cars are quickly outgrowing UK roads. Should trends continue, the average car will outgrow standard UK parking spaces in length by 2059 and by 2075, they will also be too wide. The share of new SUV-type vehicles sold in Europe are partially responsible, while smaller brands are also bulking up. Even compact cars brands like Smart have grown by more than 15cm in length in the past five years.
