In response to customer demand, Northamptonshire-based commercial tyre supplier East Midlands Tyres Services (EMTS) is introducing Cameo from Cam Systems to provide fleets with in-depth reporting facilities that will enable them to spot trends and driver behaviour that may need speedy addressing to ensure best practice.
Mobile tyre fitting service TyresontheDrive.com, a business established last year by former Michelin manager Dominic Clark, is said to be growing at a rate of 20 per cent per month. To support its expansion plans, the company is now integrating the tyre industry dedicated Cameo, Workshop Scheduler and MIDaS technologies from Cam Systems into its existing bespoke systems; according to Cam Systems these new additions will provide a more structured and stable back office that will deliver immediate efficiencies and time-saving benefits.
Merseyside’s Kirkby Tyres & Wheel has introduced Cam Systems’ Wholesale Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The software provider says Wholesale CRM will help the independent tyre and wheel wholesaler and distributor improve its customer communications and interactivity.
After completing a three-year course, 24 apprentices recently entered permanent employment at Halfords Autocentres. Each apprentice has gained NVQ Level 3 in light vehicle technology and a full-time job at Halfords Autocentres after successfully completing the course. This is good news for them, but also points to the fast rate of growth in the network.
Cam Systems newly developed website is designed specifically with tyre labelling in mind. The company wants to ensure customers are informed how to be totally operational and compliant in this area by November this year; the label will need to be present at point of sale on 1 November 2012 and Cam’s customers have been looking to the software provider to provide increased functionality to cover this requirement. In support of this, Cam says its own website (www.cam-systems.co.uk) has been designed to offer in-depth guidance and advice on the impending legislation.
Commercial tyre specialist AC Tyres is to streamline job sheet processing with its adoption of Cam Systems’ Document Manager. In addition the company will manage the transactional data feed to and from third party systems with the third party integration (3Pi) module from the UniSerV application suite. The module will eliminate double entry at both ends and “save up to a day a week” in administration time and costs according to Cam.
Halfords Autocentres has signed a deal with Cam Systems to implement its customer-facing tyre labelling programme across its 260 plus centres. Cam says its system will enable the network to address the EU legislation efficiently, while communicating a high quality, interactive image to motorists. The MIDaS based platform will allow the retailer to print out all the legal tyre label credentials on customer invoice documentation and deliver an option to present the tyre’s labelling characteristics – particularly to deal with the legislation’s “pre offer” stipulations – at point of sale and via the internet.
Charles English, managing director/owner of Alba Tyres in Leeds, will take part in the ‘Only Fools Jump In’ team charity skydive on 1 April to raise a total of £20,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). Funds raised will support people suffering from MNDA in the Yorkshire area and ongoing research; English’s support of the charity is motivated in part by his godson, James’s loss of his father-in-law to the disease last year. Cam Systems company secretary, Sue Fowler has died following a “strong and unwavering” battle with cancer. The IT systems company said that Fowler “will be hugely missed by all her colleagues, customers and suppliers, and the company sends its sincere condolences to her family at this very difficult time.” Fowler joined Cam Systems in June 1988 and her gregarious personality quickly won her many friends and contacts in the industry. Mike Allen, managing director of Cam Systems, says: “Sue had that natural ability to bring out the best in people. Her ebullient and resolute personality ensured she conducted her role and responsibilities at Cam with utter professionalism, and she was determined to continue come what may during her illness. Cam Systems, who specialises in providing software solutions to the independent tyre industry, is joining forces with EDP at Reifen Essen this June to highlight its Fleet Inspection and Fleet Management link into the Call Logging and Document Manager modules on Cam’s UniSerV platform. The integration of EDP’s fleet systems into the UniSerV commercial platform will provide tyre operators with greater visibility of fleet operations.
Merityre has introduced Cam Systems’ Wholesale Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. The system is designed to help the tyre specialist improve its customer intelligence and data reporting specifically for its retail customer base, according to the software provider.
Cam Systems has appointed Dave Ritchie to lead the company’s data management development. His initial priority is the compilation of inbound tyre data from manufacturers and importers into an online tyre catalogue which will underpin the managed service Cam Systems is offering its customers to help them steer their Tyre Labelling compliance.
Cambrian Tyres is investing “substantially” in the development of a wholesale customer relations management (CRM) and virtualised server package with Cam Systems. According to a statement from Cam, Cambrian Tyres is continuing its partnership with the software solutions provider, providing it with more effective customer connectivity and future proofing its business for the next 10 years.
Link Tyre Sales Ltd, based in Dewsbury, is introducing UniSerV from Cam Systems to its business. The company signed up for the system after witnessing the extensive benefits of the UniSerV platform in call logging, customer policy and contract management, integrated Casing Management and improved breakdown form processing at the UniSerV roadshow hosted by Cam Systems in October 2011.
Cam Systems’ Cameo suite will provide the platform for Wigan car and commercial tyre operator Ashton Tyres’ retail operation. The company says adopting the system will aid the expansion of the operation currently taking place, having completed a new building to house its commercial operation adjacent to its existing site. Director John Philbin sought advice from industry peers on software systems to suit his purposes: “Everyone I spoke to recommended Cameo. “Cam Systems is constantly developing the platform and is the market leader in innovation in the industry. The efficiencies Cameo delivers will enable our team to be more productive and we will save on hard costs.”
