Brityrex, the only dedicated tyre exhibition in the UK, opens in Tuesday 7 October. All bona fide members of the trade are welcome to attend the exhibition which runs 7 – 9 October at EventCity. As well as exhibits relating to tyres, wheels, TPMS, garage equipment, software and amore the show is also hosting TyreTalk Seminars. A full schedule is available here.
During Brityrex International 2014, (EventCity Manchester 7 – 9 October), the NTDA will be auctioning a signed Ryan Giggs no.11 Manchester United shirt, which commemorates his 588 appearances, 108 goals and 24 years of service with Manchester United. It also lists all of his accolades as a player during that period including his PFA Player of the Year in 2009. The shirt will be on display on the NTDA stand during Brityrex and delegates will be able to make silent bids for the shirt between 7 – 8 of October.
Systems provider to the tyre industry, CAM has announced that it will host the inaugural UniSerV user group event before October’s NTDA dinner. Anne Sherwood, business support manager of Tructyre Fleet Management will chair the event on Wednesday, 8 October 2014 at Manchester’s Hilton Deansgate at 14:00.
NTDA director Stefan Hay says next month’s Brityrex International in Manchester will be the business and social high point of the UK tyre industry calendar for 2014. The biennial, three-day show is the only dedicated trade-only exhibition that brings together UK and international suppliers of tyres, garage equipment, tools, consumables, IT and training services inside the UK.
Just over a year after Singapore exhibition firm Singex bought ECI, the new combined entity (SingEx-ECI) has shared details of what promises to be a fully pumped-up show. Perhaps the biggest headline is that Brityrex now has the involvement of two premium tyre manufacturers in Pirelli (new this year) and Michelin’s training centre (which returns to the show). 2014’s show will be the first time in decades that two world-leading manufacturers have exhibited at a dedicated UK tyre show. Brityrex International has confirmed a full line-up of expert speakers for the series of free TyreTalk seminars that will form a key point of interest at the tyre industry’s leading exhibition in Manchester this October.
Organised and presented in association with show sponsor the NTDA, the free seminars will cover topical subjects including the business opportunities provided by TPMS servicing and repair; an update on the EU tyre Labelling regulation; the NTDA’s campaigning work with Trading Standards on illegal part worn tyres, the environmental impact of illegal tyre dumping and disposal, and tyre ageing.
Kings Road Tyres was appointed as the exclusive distributor of Aeolus passenger car tyres at the beginning of 2014, and the company has announced the launch of this venture as a focal point of its Brityrex International 2014 activity, presented on its own stand. Primarily known as a distributor of commercial and agricultural tyres, KRT plans to get behind its new PCR product range with a package for retailers, called the Aeolus Valued Partner scheme. KRT says it will offer exclusive and innovative benefits, including an Aeolus-themed merchandising package, to fit out a reception area.
PCL says its Nexus nitrogen generation and tyre inflation solution will be taking centre stage at this year Brityex on Stand 63. The company’s innovative new system provides cost-effective nitrogen delivery hand in hand with PCL’s world-renowned digital inflation technology, giving a guaranteed inflation accuracy of ± 0.5%. The idea is that customers can benefit from superfast nitrogen inflation from their existing air supply, without needing to buy, store and handle expensive nitrogen bottles.
Frances Molloy, a prominent tyre legislation campaigner, has been announced as a speaker at October’s Brityrex International’s TyreTalk seminars. Molloy, who is chief executive of Health@Work and chair of Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust, has been lobbying the UK government to change the law on the sale and fitting of overage tyres following the death of her 18-year old son alongside the driver and another passenger in an accident caused by the blowout of a second-hand 19.5-year old tyre.
Pirelli has become the first premium brand tyre manufacturer to confirm that it will exhibit at Brityrex International. Pirelli’s direct involvement represents a something of a coup for the British tyre market show, taking place at EventCity, Manchester on 7-9 October. While the show was able to attract Michelin Training Centre in 2012 – a returning exhibitor in 2014 – this year’s Brityrex is increasing its profile with both major and second-tier tyre brands, a fact that organiser SingEx-ECI expects will increase its appeal.
Recent demand has led to the addition of a number of additional exhibitors confirming their attendance at this year’s Brityrex exhibition in Manchester.
SingEx-ECI, the owner and organiser of Brityrex International, is to sponsor a new award at this year’s NTDA Tyre Industry Awards. The Marketing Initiative Award will recognise originality and creativity in the marketing and promotion of products or services and will extend and complement the existing suite of NTDA awards.
