Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy to wear Bridgestone tyres
Bridgestone has been named the exclusive supplier for the new Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy, and will supply custom-tuned versions of its Potenza S001 and Potenza S007 as original equipment fitments.

When Tyrepress.com first saw the Bridgestone VX-Tractor tyre at Agritechnica 2017, the very first of these tyres ever made was on display – and was so new it was still warm to touch upon arrival at the exhibition hall. A year later, and the range is now on the market, targeted at users looking for longer on-road wear life and the ability to carry larger loads.
Production capacity for truck and bus radials at Bridgestone’s Warren County factory in Tennessee, USA will increase as part of a three-year, US$40 million investment to “meet market demand and address emerging customer needs.” Bridgestone Americas says it will break ground on expansion work at the 28-year old plant before the end of this year.

Bridgestone Training Centre and MWheels have embarked on a joint CV wheel safety education programme for employees, customers and industry professionals.
Utilising both classroom learning and hands-on experience, the course includes a full overview of CV wheels’ design and construction, fitting and general maintenance plus an in-depth understanding of axles, nuts and threads as direct core components.

The Bridgestone Battlax Racing Street RS11 has been selected as an original equipment tyre for the 2019 models of the Kawasaki Ninja H2 and Ninja H2 Carbon. The super sport motorcycles will wear the Bridgestone rubber in size 120/70ZR17 M/C (58W) on the front and 200/55ZR17 M/C (78W) on the rear.
A new, fully automated warehouse is to be built at the Bridgestone manufacturing facility in Joliette, Canada. Bridgestone Canada Inc. is investing CA$56 million (£32.8 million) in the project, which will give it a maximum storage capacity of 500,000 car and light commercial vehicle tyres once the facility opens in early 2020.
A new agreement has expanded Bridgestone Corporation’s involvement in international sport. The tyre maker and rubber manufacturer has become a Worldwide Paralympic Partner; it is the seventh entity to associate itself with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in this capacity.
As of November, Bridgestone will make its proprietary DriveGuard RFT (run-flat technology) available on its main product lines for the aftermarket. Specifically, the Turanza, Blizzak and Weather Control tyre ranges will gain DriveGuard fitments.
Bridgestone has introduced an all-inclusive monthly subscription service for tyres called Mobox. According to the company, Mobox subscription offers “new tyres, full warranty and other premium vehicle-related services, and all at an affordable price per month”.
Bridgestone has said its double NTDA Tyre Industry Awards 2018 victories “endorse” its “hard work over the past 12 months.” The manufacturer was presented with the Staff Training & Development accolade, along with the headline Tyre Manufacturer of the Year award – the third time it has claimed the honour in the past four years.
The winners of the 2018 “Tyre Industry Oscars” have been announced at the 89th National Tyre Distributors Association annual dinner, with a Bridgestone double in the tyre manufacturer and staff training and development categories headlining the event. More awards were added this year for excellence in tyre retail, with small, medium, and large business categories, as well as an overall winner. Presenting was television personality Mark Durden-Smith, who injected welcome energy and humour into procedings. Tyrepress also announced the results live via its Twitter feed.
Bridgestone has taken pole position in the 2018 Tyres & Accessories global social media ranking. The world’s largest tyre manufacturer’s @Bridgestone handle rose an impressive seven places to take first place from last year’s winner Michelin. Both @Bridgestone’s Klear and RightRelevance scores were of the highest order, with just three points separating them, resulting in a very high average of 87.7, which was ultimately three points clear of second place.
