Brake Engineering has released a number of new technical bulletins offering specialist advice on a wide range of the brand’s calipers and wheel cylinders, including information on product identification and the intricate differences of each part number.
Comline Auto Parts (Comline), the award-winning British distributor of European, Japanese and Korean replacement parts, has enhanced its brake pad and disc offering with over 50 new part numbers. The company says its friction offering is a major reason for its status as one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in Europe.

Roadlink International has successfully demonstrated the performance of its brake pads after putting the product through extensive tests against an original equipment (OE) brand. IDIADA Automotive Technology UK carried out the independent research comparing the stopping power and pad wear of a recognised OE pad against the Roadlink RF4001 brake pad.
Alberto Bombassei, president of well-known brake manufacturer Brembo, has been nominated for induction into the Automotive Hall of Fame. The prestigious honour will be bestowed in a ceremony to be held this July in Detroit. Bombassei is only the ninth Italian to be inducted.
Braking systems manufacturer Knorr-Bremse has announced that Dr Lorenz Zwingmann, 52, executive board member responsible for finance, IT, controlling and processes, is to leave the company on 31 December 2017. The company adds that he leaves on the very best of terms, opting not renew his contract in order to take up a new professional challenge in his North German homeland. Dr Zwingmann intends to meet his contractual obligations until the termination date, while the supervisory board, noting its regret at his decision, said it would make a decision on a successor as rapidly as possible.
Formula Brembo has launched an online game challenging mechanics and technicians to show their knowledge of Formula One. Run in the UK for Euro Car Parts’ customers, the game allows technicians to guess the starting grid, the top three podium places and the driver with the fastest lap for every race in the championship, with prizes available for the winners. The brake manufacturer has appointed Prova to manage all the related activities and to promote the new game throughout the 2017 championship season.

Servicesure Autocentres, The Parts Alliance garage programme, is rolling out its latest new initiative ‘Brakesure’ to offer motorists lifetime replacement on brake pads.
Servicesure, which announced its network had reached 400 sites during November, has already started preparing its national network, ahead of the consumer launch of Brakesure in the first quarter of 2017.
GSF Car Parts’ Vetech braking programme, which offers a trusted brake friction solution to garages for price-sensitive work, has grown quickly throughout 2016 according to the company. The range of pads has been developed significantly over the last 18 months and now includes 550 references, with the focus on covering popular cars that are three years and older.
Delphi Product & Service Solutions has launched its new copper-free brake pad range. The parts manufacturer says its new formulas offer improved brake fade performance for increased safety, feel, and refinement as well as the environmental benefits. The range offers 95 per cent car parc coverage of European and Asian applications. The launch comes nine years ahead of 2025 legislation to reduce copper materials in braking components to just 0.5 per cent.
Roadlink International has become an approved supplier to Groupauto/UAN commercial vehicle trading groups. The achievement comes at the end of a very significant year for the braking and suspension parts supplier, as it has committed its future to UK remanufacturing by expanding its services with investment in a new brake caliper production facility.
Goodridge performance has released a new stainless steel brake kit for Honda’s Type R Civic, one of the most popular Type R variants of recent times. The kit, which draws upon the firm’s years of motorsport experience, can be fitted to the FN2 and FK3 models. The kit offers upgrades to brake efficiency reliability and longevity, and eliminates brake pedal sponginess, according to Goodridge. Ten colours are available to avoid clashing hues.
