It’d be hard to miss the new Agrimax Force size that BKT is premiering at SIMA – at 2.3 metres tall, the IF 750/75 R 46 tyre is the largest agricultural radial the company has ever produced.
On 8 February 2019 Balkrishna Industries’ (BKT) confirmed that the first phase of its new carbon black plant will be commissioned by 31 March 2019.
Gruppo Nodari is a sizeable agricultural contractor in Brescia, Northern Italy. The company services farms and companies within the region of Lombardy, in particular offering its contracting services to biogas plants. A large proportion of Nodari’s tyre needs are meet by BKT.

Ever since signing up as sponsor to Italy’s Serie B and the Coupe de la Ligue in France earlier this year, football has become not just a means of promoting the BKT brand name. The off-highway tyre specialist has also integrated the beautiful game into its charitable activities.
During its Escorts Exclusive 2018 dealers and partners event in September, Indian agricultural machinery manufacturer Escorts Limited presented its first driverless tractor. The Automated Concept Tractor was produced in collaboration with seven technology firms – Microsoft, Reliance Jio, Trimble, Samvardhana Motherson Group, Wabco, Bosch and AVL – and utilises sensor-provided data and applications. Tyres were provided by BKT.
Balkrishna Industries (BKT) has provided further details regarding its plans to build a factory in the USA. With a capital outlay of up to US$100 million, funded by investments and local debt, the tyre maker intends to establish a greenfield facility with an annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes.
John Evankovich has been inducted as president of the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) Board of Directors. He took office at the TIA annual membership meeting on 29 October and will serve a one-year term. In addition, the US-based industry association also introduced Brian Rigney (president, Dill Air Controls) as its vice-president and Dan Nothdurft (president, Tires, Tires, Tires) as secretary. Mike Wolfe (owner, Southeastern Wholesale Tire) will remain treasurer.
Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) shares that its chairman emeritus, Dharaprasadji Poddar, died on 20 October 2018. In a statement, BKT writes that “his demise is an irreparable loss to the company and his guiding presence will always be missed by all at Balkrishna.”
Yet another sports sponsorship for BKT – following on from the start of its Serie B and Coupe de la Ligue title sponsorships in Italy and France, the off-highway tyre specialist has entered into a partnership with the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) cricket league in Australia. BKT has signed an agreement with governing body Cricket Australia that secures its status as off-highway tyre supplier to the Twenty20 cricket league for three years.
French football governing body Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has announced its entry into a partnership with tyre maker BKT. The off-highway tyre specialist has become naming partner to the knockout championship Coupe de la Ligue (French League Cup) for the next six seasons. As of the round of 32, the Coupe de la Ligue will be known as the Coupe de la Ligue BKT.
Every year, US-based organisation The Tire Industry Association (TIA) inducts new worthies into its Hall of Fame. As mentioned on Friday, this year the TIA welcomes two from the industry to its Hall of Fame, and off-highway tyre specialist BKT is honoured that its chairman and managing director, Arvind Poddar is one of the pair selected for this accolade. Poddar will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Tire Industry Honors Awards Ceremony, which will be held in Las Vegas on 29 October prior to the opening of the 2018 SEMA Show.
The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has announced the names of the honorees for the 2018 Hall of Fame and Ed Wagner Leadership Award. The inductions will take place at the Tire Industry Honors Awards Ceremony on Monday 29 October 29 at Paris Las Vegas Hotel.
Tarmac’s Hillhead Quarry near Buxton in Derbyshire hosted unprecedented crowds for the 2018 edition of the show (26–28 June), with official figures showing a record-breaking 19,687 unique visitors in attendance, surpassing the show’s previous highest attendance record set in 2005. The show also included more exhibitors (527) than ever before, with the showground, pavilions and demonstration areas showcasing the latest plant and equipment for the quarrying, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, recycling and construction sectors, many of the products on show for the first time in the UK.

Off-highway tyre maker BKT has taken on title sponsorship of Italy’s second-highest football championship, Serie B. The arrangement covers a period of three years and sees the championship’s official name change to Serie BKT. In addition, BKT gains brand visibility in all Lega Serie B stadiums and during televised matches.
