BVRLA karting race raises £6,000 + for BEN

A desire to prove you can challenge your body to the extreme despite ongoing medical problems will see The Parts Alliance’s Andy Hurst ride from London to Paris in just 24 hours. Hurst, a Pricing and Management Information Manager at The Parts Alliance, will be raising money for BEN, the Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund.
On Thursday 18th June 2015, join teams from Beadles Group, Hendy Group, HPI Check, JCT600, Ridgeway Mercedes-Benz Portsmouth and Volvo Group who will be sailing in the inaugural “Automotive Challenge Cup”. Team places are still available and for each entry Sunsail Events is donating £500 to the automotive industry charity, BEN.

BEN is calling for keen cyclists to complete its London to Paris 24 hour challenge to help raise funds for the automotive industry charity. The closing date to register for the charity event, which will see the cyclists cover 240 miles in just 24 hours, is the end of March.

Sunsail Events, experts in organising corporate team building sailing events, have announced ‘The Automotive Challenge Cup’, an inaugural team racing event in aid of BEN, the automotive charity. Setting sail on Thursday 18 June 2015, teams spend the day learning the ropes and racing against each other, on board the only matched fleet on the Solent, meaning any team can win.
At the end of October 2014, Robin Shaw took over as the managing director of Bridgestone’s North Europe region, which includes the UK as well as the Nordic markets. Shaw replaced John McNaught who had been with the company for 12 years. He joined at a time when reorganisation is taking place within the wider European business and when a number of key UK and North region managers have either retired or gone off to pastures new. Tyres & Accessories caught up with Robin Shaw as he was en route to Brussels for one of many meetings he has had with European executives during the beginning of his tenure.
Euro Car Parts has announced a partnership with automotive industry charity, BEN. The initiative was launched internally at the company back in August when the new Thurrock branch was opened by MP Jackie Doyle-Price. According to the company, this is the first time in ECP’s history that the entire company has backed one charity with the partnership running through to 31 October 2015.

It also lists all of his accolades as a player during that period including his PFA Player of the Year in 2009.
During Brityrex International 2014, (EventCity Manchester 7 – 9 October), the NTDA will be auctioning a signed Ryan Giggs no.11 Manchester United shirt, which commemorates his 588 appearances, 108 goals and 24 years of service with Manchester United. It also lists all of his accolades as a player during that period including his PFA Player of the Year in 2009. The shirt will be on display on the NTDA stand during Brityrex and delegates will be able to make silent bids for the shirt between 7 – 8 of October.
Following confirmation that Unipart Automotive has entered administration with job losses totalling 1,250 BEN (the automotive industry benevolence charity) is offering to support to those affected.
The charity has contacted KPMG, the appointed administrators, and hopes that through them, and its own communications, it can ensure that those who have been displaced know BEN is on hand during this potentially difficult period.
Automotive industry charity BEN is celebrating the success of its 16th BEN Scotland Ball, held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow, which raised a total of £8,900 on the night.
The Trust My Garage Charity Challenge teams, the Northern Numpties and the Southern Softies have raised the impressive sum of £8,500 for the automotive charity BEN.
The challenge, which was to visit the most TMG members using a route planned by using only the TMG website, was won by the Southern Softies who visited 85 garages during the four day event.
With less than three weeks to go, the 2014 CV Show and Workshop is sold out. Show organisers report that every available portion of Show space has been sold and the books are now closed. The 2014 Show exhibit space will measure just over 31,400m2 – an increase of almost 8 per cent over last year.
