Mitas has earned recognition as a partner-level supplier for 2015 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The partner-level status is Deere & Companyās highest supplier rating. The Prague based company was selected for the honour in recognition of its ādedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement.ā
WheelRight, which uses an external drive-over device to measure tyre pressures, recently won a European safety award at an exhibition in Holland (InterTraffic).
The Safety Innovation Award went to WheelRight for its drive-over tyre monitoring technology. This solution measures tyre pressure and vehicle weight as a vehicle drives over road-embedded sensors. WheelRight therefore measures every vehicle in a fleet from day one, instantly identifying the vehicle by its number plate, and reporting any problems within seconds.
The final deadline to enter the TyreSafe Awards 2016 has been extended to midnight Friday 8 April. The awards, which recognise the work of those campaigning to raise awareness of tyre safety in the UK during 2015, are open to non-members of TyreSafe as well as its supporters. Submissions have already been received from tyre, car and van manufacturers and retailers, along with road safety partnerships, and represent some inspiring campaign work. Shortlisted entrants and guests will gather at the awardsā evening ceremony on 14 July at The Belfry, Wishaw, to discover who will claim the prestigious accolades.
The Red Dot Design Award has been presented to the Semperit Runner D2 drive tyre in size 315/80 R22.5. An international jury deemed the technical quality of the tyre, including an improved tread and compact pattern, worthy of the accolade. The Runner D2 offers high mileage and low fuel consumption, Semperit states.
The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) will formally open its call for nominations to the 2016 Low Carbon Champions Awards in the week beginning 11 April. The Champions Awards celebrate organisations that have made a real difference in the area of low carbon road transport. There are seven Award categories, ranging from cars to innovation, from fuels to publications, and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner that will take place alongside Cenexās Low Carbon Vehicle Event (Cenex-LCV) on Wednesday, 14 September 2016.
