Lighting and electronics expert, Hella, received the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2019 in the “Powertrain” category; a joint award given by the Centre of Automotive Management (CAM) and the auditing and consulting firm PwC.
ZF Aftermarket has been awarded the Partslife environmental award for its use of “Powder Adhesive Technology” in the production of its TRW branded brake pads. The pads are now manufactured without organic solvents as a result of this technology. The award aims to promote innovative and exemplary measures for environmental protection, and to encourage employees of other companies to imitate them.
CAM has been awarded Gold accreditation by Investors in People (IIP). The award indicates that CAM is in the top 16 per cent of accredited organisations across the UK, demonstrating commitment to excellent customer service delivery. The assessors recognised the people and process investment CAM has made over the past two years, as well as the hard work the whole company has put in to continually improving its customer service and support business culture.
Bridgestone Americas says it is honoured to be one of FCA’s Supplier of the Year awardees in the North America region. The tyre maker was one of 19 supplier partners acknowledged at the 2019 annual Supplier Conference and Award Ceremony in Detroit.

This year saw the 33rd Motor Transport Awards take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel situated on London’s Park Lane. Over 1,500 guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of the industry and recognise innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. The Technical Excellence Award, sponsored by Hankook Tyre UK celebrates whoever is responsible for managing the specification, acquisition, repair and maintenance and disposal of an operator’s fleet. To win this award entrants have to demonstrate industry-leading levels of cost efficiency, reliability, availability, safety and first-time annual test pass rates. Demonstrating innovation is also essential, such as reducing fuel consumption, being more efficient or using technology creatively to solve specific technical fleet challenges.
The Ateq VT Truck, a TPMS activation tool for European HGVs and buses, has been named as a finalist by the jury for the International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation at the Equip Auto trade show in Paris.

Philips’ RacingVision headlight bulb, developed by Lumileds, has been named Auto Express Headlight Bulb of the Year 2019 during the magazine’s annual product awards ceremony. In the USA, Yokohama Tire Corporation has been recognized by Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) with a supplier’s award in the Excellent Performance category. Yokohama earned the award for its supply of the AVID S34P (225/40R18 88V) tyres on the Impreza.
