The 18th edition of Automechanika Dubai, which was scheduled to run from 7-9 June 2020, will now take place from 19-21 October 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The postponement comes in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as containment measures restrict movement across international borders, and impact the global economy.
The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has welcomed Automechanika Garage of the Year 2019, Avia Autos, to its list of members.
The IBIS (International Bodyshop Industry Symposium) global conferencing platform and the international Automechanika trade fair brands are coordinating their schedule, meaning the upcoming Automechanika fairs in Shanghai and Frankfurt will each feature an IBIS regional event.
Schaeffler has hailed its stand at Automechanika Birmingham 2019 as its ‘best ever’, following three days of exhibiting at the National Exhibition Centre, where it offered visitors a glimpse at the ‘garage of tomorrow’.
The stand, located in the OESAA village, featured a striking workshop setting with a Schaeffler BMW M4 DTM car, plus augmented and mixed reality exhibits. It certainly grabbed the attention of technicians and distributors alike, with feedback from visitors overwhelmingly positive.

Pre-registration for Automechanika Birmingham 2019 is up 21 per cent on the same time last year, thanks largely to the raft of new initiatives being unveiled. A record number of motor factors and garages are due to descend upon the Midlands once again for the industry’s leading trade exhibition, taking place from 4 to 6 June at the NEC Birmingham.
Automechanika Birmingham has announced that visitor registration is now open, enabling visitors to sign up and take advantage of a number of new offers and initiatives available at this year’s show. Automechanika Birmingham has announced that “Innovation” will be the leading theme for the 2019 event, held at Birmingham NEC on 4 to 6 June. Following extensive Automechanika research, “new technology and innovation” were key reasons to attend the event for independent garages, motor factors, retailers and bodyshops and so Automechanika is looking to build on this by highlighting all innovation from within the automotive industry.
Automechanika Birmingham has promoted Jack Halliday to event director, just under a year ago he joined the Messe Frankfurt UK subsidiary as head of sales.

Trico will be showcasing its new slogan ‘Excellence In Every Blade’ at the world’s leading trade fair for the automotive service industry Automechanika – as well as introducing a new “OEM” logo to highlight the company’s long running relationships supplying vehicle manufacturers worldwide. This new strapline and logo will feature heavily in all of Trico’s upcoming advertisements and marketing campaigns.
Automechanika Birmingham will return to the NEC from 4 to 6 June 2019, with many major industry players signed up to exhibit. The show organisers say the 2019 edition looks likely to increase in size ahead of the event’s move to a biennial format starting in 2021.
The Parts Alliance will be helping to showcase opportunities with Bendix braking products to a global audience at next month’s Automechanika Frankfurt exhibition, taking place from 11 to 14 September.
Following on from EDT Automotive’s debut at Automechanika Birmingham 2018, the award-winning engine decontamination specialist has signed a further five garages after the event, taking the total of machines placed up to 14.
Two years on from the official unveiling of its pan-European battery distribution arm, Ecobat Battery Technologies (EBT), the Ecobat group is once again exhibiting at Automechanika Frankfurt.
