With about a fortnight to go until it opens its doors once more, Automechanika Birmingham – hosted from 6th – 8th June at the NEC – has given visitors a flavour of what’s to come at this year’s highly anticipated show, launching its official event preview.
As a platinum partner, Hella will be exhibiting a broad range of its workshop equipment, as well as its original equipment (OE) replacement parts programme, at Automechanika Birmingham. Through its Hella Gutmann brand, Hella will be showing both vehicle diagnostics and tools for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), from stand Q90 in hall 19.
Europe’s largest battery distributor, Ecobat, reports that it is demonstrating its solutions across five defined areas: automotive, leisure, mobility/motorcycle and chargers/invertors at Automechanika Birmingham (stand G90 in hall 20). In addition sister company, Ecobat Solutions, focuses on electric vehicle (EV) technology.
Automechanika Birmingham will be partnering with the National Tyre Distribution Association (NTDA) for its 2023 event. Taking place from 6 to 8 June 2023 at the NEC, Automechanika Birmingham 2023 will be the first UK event since 2019 and is already set to be a sell-out show packed with new brands exhibiting, features and training hubs for collision repair, electric vehicles, ADAS and more.
NTDA Chief Executive Stefan Hay commented: “We hope that more of our supplier members will join the hundreds of other businesses at the largest national gathering of automotive professionals in the UK and showcase their latest parts, components, equipment, tools, technologies and services this year. Of course, we also hope that as usual many of our full tyre distributor and fast fit centre members will also visit this fantastic event and come to meet the NTDA team.”
Grupo Alves Bandeira’s MatraX Tyres brand experienced “an extremely productive” debut at Automechanika Dubai, according to the distributor. The expansive MatraX stand showcased the full MatraX range of PCR, high performance, SUV and 4×4 tyres. The MatraX Urcola, Veragua FX and Morucha patterns were featured on the stand, emphasising products suited to high-performance cars.
M&B Engineering is introducing its latest range of tyre changers, wheel balancers and wheel alignment systems at Automechanika Frankfurt later this month. Specifically, M&B will show the new turntable TC700 Series as well as the “top-of-the-range model TC755 Leverless”, which represents the further evolution of the TC555 SL-4.
Nexion Group brand Corghi will present its latest automotive repair and maintenance innovations at Automechanika Frankfurt (September 13 to 17, Stand G96, Hall 8.0). The show will mark the brand’s return to the exhibition circuit after a break of more than two years, prompted by the pandemic. The Corghi team said it is thrilled to be able to meet customers and partners again at the trade fair that brings together the entire automotive aftermarket value chain.
Michelin will showcase its non-tyre vehicle accessories at Automechanika in Frankfurt (13-17 September 2022, Stand D88 in Hall 12.1). The brand had 52 licensees in around 130 countries in 2021, together selling more than 31 million Michelin branded products. Michelin says that this puts Michelin Lifestyle Limited at number 46 in a ranking of the world’s most successful licensors. Highlights of the Michelin Automechanika stand will include high-pressure washers, Michelin Eco cleaning and car care products, the new Michelin Jump Starter range, windscreen wipers, snow chains, car mats, and hydraulic vehicle jacks capable of lifting up to three metric tons, making them particularly suitable for SUVs.
Repairify will present its products for the European collision repair sector at Automechanika Frankfurt between 13-17 September 2022 (stand F23, Hall 8.0). The company will introduce several new intelligent automotive technology solutions during the show. The global company has acquired several brands within the sector as it has grown over the past years, including European diagnostics specialist asTech. Repairify will bring its latest diagnostics and ADAS calibration products to Automechanika Frankfurt.

Egypt’s automotive aftermarket has been dubbed “one of Africa’s most exciting markets” as its motoring population and vehicle sales grow, its economy expands and the government moves to combat automotive emissions. Germany’s Africa business experts africon, the knowledge partners of Automechanika Dubai, suggests these trends have resulted in an aftermarket now worth between US$1-2 billion in a whitepaper on the subject.
Automechanika Birmingham has been moved to June 2023, maintaining its alternation with Automechanika Frankfurt, which recently moved its full form to September 2022 due to ongoing international travel restrictions following the coronavirus pandemic. Organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, Messe Frankfurt UK, report that they made the decision following “close discussion with exhibitors and other key stakeholders in the UK aftermarket”.
Automechanika Frankfurt 2021, which takes place from 14 to 16 September, will be run according to a ‘Digital Plus’ format for one year only. This means, that, in addition to a compact physical exhibition, Automechanika’s primary focus is on offering all participants the opportunity to network and present their companies digitally. Next year, the leading international trade fair will return to its familiar format on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds from 13 to 17 September 2022.
Messe Frankfurt, the organiser of Automechanika Birmingham, has appointed Grant Elrick as the company’s new sales director. Elrick is responsible for all sales and commercial activity around the Automechanika Birmingham show.
Automechanika Dubai 2021 has been moved to the end of the year and will now take place from 14 – 16 December 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. According to the show’s organisers, Messe Frankfurt, the move follows contact with stakeholders and is a the result of the Covid-19 pandemic’s “unchartered territory”.
