European FinTyre Distribution (EfTD) has appointed Riccardo Costa as purchasing director Business Truck & Motorcycle. In this role he will report directly to Alessandro Bruchi, Chief Procurement Officer of EfTD.
Michelin has opened applications for the five trainee places available in its 2019 intake, with roles available in engineering and business administration in Stoke-on-Trent. Michelin’s apprenticeship programme was launched in 1927. The tyre manufacturer states that it “underpins the culture of the company overall, providing a springboard for trainees to start their careers through a tailored mix of training and work experience.”

CD Group has appointed Neil Davis as a non-executive director. He has over 20 years’ experience in the automotive aftermarket, including 11 years as managing director of FPS and of the Lookers Parts Division, which included FPS, Apec and BTN. He was also a main board director of Lookers PLC, the £4bn turnover vehicle retailer, from 2011 to 2016. The Lookers Parts Division was acquired by Alliance Automotive Group in 2016, and Davis led the successful transition of the acquired business before stepping down at the end of 2017.
ELTA Automotive Ltd has recruited three experienced aftermarket executives for its senior sales and commercial roles in a bid to further strengthen the team.

Vehicle management leader, LeasePlan has announced changes at the top of its business – with LeasePlan UK’s current managing director Matt Dyer appointed as president and chief executive officer of LeasePlan USA, and current LeasePlan Italy managing director, Alfonso Martínez stepping into the managing director role in the UK.
Continental UK and Ireland has appointed Okan Tamer as its new managing director, effective 1 November 2018. The moves sees Tamer relocate from Turkey, where he was general manager responsible for the presence of the international automotive corporation in that country.

Pneumatic Components (PCL) has appointed Bryan Fincham to the role of area sales manager to spearhead the business’ growth in the South. Fincham, who has over 20 years’ experience in sales across various sectors including automotive and FMCG, will focus on increasing sales in the South of England through new and organic business development.
Apollo Tyres’ presence in the truck tyre sector has been bolstered by the appointment of Steve Miller as TBR sales manager, bringing with him over 20 years’ experience, having worked for Kumho on reintroducing the TBR range in the UK, Bridgestone as a national fleet manager (commercial) and Michelin as a sales manager.
Gert Meylemans, the former head of PR and corporate communications at Bridgestone Europe, has become senior manager communications at Eurobat, the Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers.
The Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER) has appointed Owen Laurenson as operations manager. Reporting to the FER’s board of directors, Laurenson will be responsible for proactively managing the day-to-day running of the FER and developing a strategy to further enhance the FER’s reputation and positioning within the automotive industry. Laurenson will also be responsible for introducing value added initiatives to the benefit of existing and future FER members and customers.
Effective Monday 16 July 2018, Mark Brickhill has become Klarius Group chief executive officer which covers Klarius Products, machine specialist KMT and related tools/consumables business Emissco. Brickhill is well known to the tyre industry having previously been Goodyear Dunlop UK MD and other executive positions within Goodyear’s EMEA operation.
