Autotech appoints Head of MOT

Martin Mikiewicz has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of moveero. Mikiewicz brings over 25 years of experience in operations roles, including his most recent position as COO and VP of Business and Supply Chain Excellence at Outokumpu.
Recently, Sentury appointed Philippe Oberti as deputy general manager and director of its R&D centre.
Midland Tyre Group has made two senior leadership changes to its leadership team that the well-known Irish truck and off-road tyre supplier described as “pivotal”. Chris Parle, the company’s current chief operating officer (COO), is transitioning to the role of group commercial director, with a focus on training and regional business development. At the same time, Neil O’Gorman has been appointed as COO and is said to bring “extensive experience in driving operational excellence”.
Tom Saunders has been appointed as Michelin’s new Beyond Road – Agricultural Technical Correspondent. In his new position, Saunders will be a direct link between customers and Michelin’s research and development team – relaying feedback from the agricultural community.
Wang Lin was recently elected as vice chairman of Linglong Tire. According to the Linglong’s announcement of the news, Wang Lin’s appointment is intented to “meet Linglong Tire’s future development needs, further improve the corporate governance structure, and improve the operating level and work efficiency of the company’s board of directors.” His responsibilities are to “assist the chairman in carrying out his work.”
Linglong became the first Chinese tyremaker to start producing tyres in Europe when it opened the doors to its Serbia facility in February. Since then, the company has continued to expand its European operations and most recently appointed Wolf Fuder as Head of Marketing Europe based within the Linglong Germany GmbH operation.
Jason Chamberlain, sales director at ATS Euromaster, is now also taking over as commercial director role of TrucTyre. In his expanded new role, Chamberlain will be responsible for overseeing and driving business growth for both ATS Euromaster and TrucTyre. According to the company, “the promotion will ensure customers of both ATS Euromaster and TrucTyre get a consistent and high quality level of service, across all vehicle types.”
Ceat recently appointed Renji Issac, Senior Vice President R&D and Technology in India. Issac took over from Peter Becker, Senior Vice President R&D and Technology effective 1 May. Becker was globally responsible for quality tyre development and implementation in Europe from July 2017 to 30 April 2023.
TecAlliance has appointed Peter van der Galiën (55) as the new CEO of TecAlliance GmbH, effective 1 January 2024. He succeeds Jürgen Buchert (66), who will retire at the end of the year after 22 years as CEO of TecAlliance GmbH and Caruso GmbH. The TecAlliance Group will achieve turnover of more than 117 million euros in 2023. It employs almost 1,000 people.
Linglong Tire has launched a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Linglong N.A. Sales, based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Geoff Doster became president of the new company effective 7 August 2023. The establishment of Linglong N.A. Sales follows the news that Linglong is considering investing in production facilities in “the Americas”.
Jeremy Kahrs has been promoted to vice president of research and development at the Yokohama Development Center America (YDCA) facility in Cornelius, North Carolina.
Rich Allen has become commercial director at International Tyres & Trading Ltd. Allen brings with him 12 years of experience within the commercial tyre trade, specifically with Goodyear (truck) and Yokohama TWS (speciality).
Giti Tire has appointed Lars Ohnsorge as senior manager automotive engineering Europe OE. The company said the appointment of the experienced tyre professional would further strengthen its original equipment operations, following the recruitment of Nicolas Kluson as key account manager Europe OE in April, with both providing in-depth technical support and direction from the company’s European R&D Center in Hannover, Germany. Giti said its new OE team will immediately focus on the manufacturer’s existing OE relationships with BMW Group, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), VW Group (Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW) and VW Commercial Vehicles as well as introduce the Giti brand and business philosophy to other key vehicle manufacturers.
ATS Euromaster has appointed Gary Butterworth as central operations manager, effective immediately. Butterworth, who will be field-based, steps up after eight years as area operations manage. In that role, he led up to 28 service centres across southern England.
