To fulfil regulatory requirements in the US state of California, a global group of 30 tyre manufacturers has published a Stage 1 Alternatives Analysis (AA) report concerning the antioxidant 6PPD in tyres. The aim of this project is to assess and refine methods of evaluating potential alternatives to 6PPD, the antiozonant widely employed as a rubber stabilising additive when producing tyres.
