In 2019, the Ronal Group celebrates its 50th anniversary – and to mark the occasion, it is releasing an anniversary wheel. The Ronal R50 Aero will be presented, resplendent in racing gold-rim lip diamond cut, at the Essen Motor Show in December. The Ronal R50 Aero is a closed design with turbine-like spokes for cooling the brakes. The anniversary rim will be available in 7.5×16-inch and 8.0×18-inch sizes.
Wheel manufacturer BBS says it is “strategically repositioning” itself, and has thus made a number of changes to its management team. Heinz Bartosch, chief executive officer since December 2016, was “released from his duties” as of 2 November 2018. He has been replaced with a new management team, a team that BBS says will “place a stronger focus” on expanding the BBS brand around the globe as well as on growing the company’s partnerships with OEM customers in the premium segment.
Work on a new Ronal innovation centre is now under way. Alloy wheel manufacturer the Ronal Group broke ground at the site of its future facility in Forst, Germany in late September, and on 12 October founded Ronal Technologie GmbH, the company that will take responsibility for the centre’s functions.

Declining car production in the UK has contributed towards lower wheel unit shipments in the third quarter of 2018, reports Superior Industries International, Inc. Compared with the prior-year period, Q3 2018 shipments were down 300,000 units to 4.7 million.
